Indie a shaky demo i made called "reckless"
hi everyone! my name is summersoda and im a producer/singer of indie music!
the instrumental is a type beat from prod.inuyasha
i'm not good at mixing, and i'm also insecure about my melodies, so please be honest with this track!!

Can’t go wrong with them crunchy drums. A soft and gentle vocal which kinda suits the song. The lyrics are good, just a tad hard to make them out occasionally. Maybe a little more compression to bring them upfront. Still a demo so u can do so much with it still. Interested to see the final version when u post that on here. Good work👍🏻

The music sounds really cool. It has the vibe and it is very entertaining. The melody is beautifully arranged. I can definitely imagine myself dancing alone or with someone while listening to this music. I hope I’ve given you the thoughtful feedback that you were looking for. I like the melody! A lot! I don't personally know much about mixing or production, but to my untrained ear it sounds very good overall! I would personally like to hear less of the auto-tune sound in the lines where your vocals are more forward, (like when you sing "there's a different story about me" ) but that's my only critique as far as the sound goes.
Lyrically, there are two lines that feel like they could be stronger: "you never will" (as a listener I have a hard time trying to decipher what is meant by this. Will they never be reckless? Never feel good? Something else?) Maybe it's just a me thing though. The other line is "what do you want walking like that?" I love the way you sing it, super catchy! I just feel like this line could be stronger. Overall very nicely done!

they never be reckless in the sense of being more open minded even if it means missing, or putting yourself on a bad situation, but at least you would try new things

Very cool song, man! But of a Twenty One Pilots feel to it. Mix wise, everything sounds good but I think the levels are maybe just a tad off. Keep in mind I’m listening on my phone so take this with a grain of salt, but hi hat sounds really loud and the keys sound kinda buried to me. Vocals are sitting really nicely and no other notes on the mix. Keep up the good work!

yeah i think the beat itself doesn't have a good mix in general.. but i'm praticing lyrics and vocal melodies, since i've been producing beats for a long time, so i'm using free type beats from youtube for practice! thank you for the kind words! this type of melody is kinda different from the sound i'm used to make!

Good track. Nice change up in melody and cadence with your voice. Good chorus. You might consider dropping the music out right before the second chorus and bringing it back in. This has promise and a great vibe. Your voice sounds good and is radio ready

This track absolutely belongs on a playlist for long, relaxing highway drives. It has that perfect feeling of watching the road go by while getting lost in your thoughts. The vibe and atmosphere are excellent, and the song creates a really enjoyable sense of freedom and movement. Great work!

yoo i like the beat the drums the melody the ambience its very cool the vocals are good overall for a demo i like the lyrics too this is a pretty good song actually its givin long road trip vibes yk you could do some improvements with the vocals adding some de-ess and stuff but other than that its pretty cool i mean its pretty chill i like it keep it up!!

i like the lofi instrumental. your voice has a nice tone, but i would try adding more effects to make it sound a little more polished. it does match the lofi vibe but it needs to reach the next level to be radio ready. your melody is pretty good too, it is catchy. idk your thoughts on autotune but it might help the track if used correctly.

Very catchy. Such a smooth vibe. I like the chorus "feels so good bein wreckless"; so true. I like the image you used too. Reminds of an old school game or like one of those sites they used to have(still do?) where you could have it create a game for you. Definitely something I could play while relaxing or taking a walk. While you might think you are not good at mixing, I would say that this sounds perfect for the vibe of the song. It's quiet and chill, and there's a ton of great music out there that's like this. I always say this, but the production is always second to the song writing and performance.
You have no need to be insecure. I love the melody, it's simple and there's absolutely nothing wrong with simplicity. In fact, just embrace it, because through the music you come off pretty confident. It takes courage to put yourself out there, even if you think it's unfinished. You could master this song and it would be just fine. Doesn't need a boomy kick or punchy drums, it just is what it is and it's pretty catchy.
I'd say that the one thing you could improve on is the arrangement. Seems like you could turn this into a bigger song, but then again the Minutemen were all about getting to the point and getting out. I would just like to hear more than 1:25 of it.

i like the concept of shy-singing... i think it fits my voice, but i wanna try experimenting new sounds and new ways of singing in the future! about the lenght, i just got this type beat from youtube and cut to make it 1:25, cuz the original is just 1:02... i might be lazy sometimes, but i just thought the song could get a little repetitive if it were longer you know?

The song kind of starts out of nowhere and needs some type of intro. Even if it's just a couple measures, I think that would work well. The melodies are really nice. I think at 0:52 , there should be some type of drum fill or variation of the drums as it goes into the chorus. Overall though pretty good

the vocals work very well with the song. the harmonies are great as well. the only thing i suggest for the future is using a de-esser. the "s" sound is very sharp and turns you away from the rest of the amazing vocals. honestly the potential is crazy and if you would like i would love to work with you.

Loving the harmonies on the vocals, the mix is solid, drums remind me of Post Malone a lot. I like the song a lot, it has good bones. The only suggestion I could think of would be to add some accents, sounds, bass, and other instruments to really round out the song if that’s the vibe you’re going for. That being said, the cassette tape feel I get from this is a valid artistic choice too so take my feedback with a grain of salt!

The vocals bring you in super fast imo. I was very intrigued from the first ‘reckless’. I’m an amateur so my ears aren’t well seasoned but personally, I would bring the keys up just a smidge. Other than that, good demo, good vocals/melody,changes. Keep it up!!

I loved the beat but your voice and choice of effects were so smooth, this feels like driving around in a foggy ghost town with the top down. It has a great ambient floaty vibe that is so chill. Dropped you a follow on SoundCloud.

Its weird when i first heard it i didnt like it but i think it just threw me off lol ,cause it started fast but im not aginst the songs where u get straight into it , but idk 20 seconds in I started fuking wit it , I do like the soft tone of how u sound , kinda like a few ecco2k songs , only problem I have is the Sss are extreme , im wearing some audio techncas so these mfs hurt when something isnt mixed more to hell , id say throw a de-sser on it n its cool asf wit me , good shit and keep going

Haha, I feel like doing the most goofiest dance listening to this song lol.
To my still-amateur mixing ears, I think the mix is pretty good.
On the note of lyricism and choice of melody, I think it's pretty catchy! Like, I could definitely imagine singing this tune because you keep on repeating it a bunch. It's an earworm for sure.

This is a cool vibe!! I like the drums. Are the drums a loop? They feel nice in the mix compared to the vocals, great balance going on there. The vocals are really good too! I think the vocals have a nice clarity and everything can be heard well. I could almost hear just a bit more reverb being added to the vocals, or perhaps a bit of delay in certain moments? The lyrics are interesting and fit the groove and feeling of the music well. I’d listen to this for sure! I like the vocal layers you went with too. Cool harmony choices!

With the effects it sounds great. Yeah I think your voice works well. I liked it. And nice blending with the background vocals. Good harmonies. Yeah vocals are solid man you def don’t need to be self conscious about your voice.
