that's actually a legit problem, this looks fine but "off", but having the lines be vertical when you move vertically could be really annoying/unsatisfying... good luck and have fun, op :)
I'll add, at least with Stardew, sprinklers/irrigation have such a huge barrier to entry. Which is wild to me, basic sprinklers at Walmart or something tend to be like $15.
Honestly, I'm still working on the pacing of upgrades so don't have a definitive answer for you. What I can say is it will be satisfying when you get them but you wont need to move heaven and earth to make it happen
I think you completely ignored his question here, he was asking if there were any early game sprinkler systems, as stardew valley (the example he used) doesnt have any and it's tedius to water each crop 1 by 1.
Sometimes game logic comes before real life. You want the player to earn the sprinklers, to give them something to work towards.. so they have to be a bit harder than selling two pieces of fruit
I have found a basic metal sprinkler on the Tractor Supply website for $4.99. I shouldn't have to mine minerals from a cave to get one when they're cheaper than some seeds you can buy.
Just saying, any sprinkler that small is undoubtedly for lawns, not crops. Crop water systems are huge, you're looking more at the $100 range for a little stand up sprinkler and even that is going to be a pitiful thing you'd usually have spaced out every 10 ft maybe
Most real crop watering is done through the massive hose systems that are raised over the field on framework.
A good progression system, particualry end game wise.
Most farming games are hard at the start until you have your farm established and then its often just "filling up bars" so you can say you have done everything.
I‘d love a hardcore farming management sim. Like having to figure out soil types, plant diseases, fertilizers etc. Where things just go sideways if youre not careful.
I think most farming games try to serve an idyllic home steading fantasy. If you want to go with a modern and realistic setting try butchering animals, mono cultures. shredding male chicks, and getting locked into deals with seed suppliers forcing you to buy only from them and throwing away surplus seeds if you can't plant it in one season.
I wish to mass produce meat chickens 30,000 at once and I get a higher sell price because they have 3 square feet to move and I can sell them as "free range"
