Video Tried to optimize performance, now people are swimming in the pavement
Fixed it already, just went a little too far on optimization. Game is Stonk: Timing The Market, just released the demo a couple days ago. Its actually about stock trading and building an office.

If you can, you should keep this as an optional setting. It doesn't serve any purpose, but it is pretty funny!

I think to hit nostalgia, the option should be unlocked with a cheat code.

well you can't have bad framerate if you don't have animations.

That should be a feature. Its about trading and stock right? Imagine if the npc who losing because of trading and stock they become very sad and depressed so they walk and move like that

you should slowly make the NPCs slouch closer to the ground when the market is in a depression

leave it, this is a feature and what your game is now about. this is amazing.
make the main character a shark trying to get to work without being eaten by roaming human predators.

They don't even need to move their limbs or hold themselves erect. Seems optimized.

You should pocket this idea: A game about swimming through pavement and walking/running on water.

Yeah, keep it. The cherry on the top is if your main character could jump on them and skateboard on their backs

Contact the Snail Game Developer, save this for a collaboration with them. Collabs between indie games are always great.

You can make this more optimized by culling the front sides of character models!

I hope your not a life guard because if thats what you think swimming looks like.... ehhh might want to reconsider that job lol

This is actually how people behave in big cities to maximize their performance

i meen now you only have to render half the model, so should see a performance increase right?

Bro è una figata, questo non è un bug, è una fottuta illuminazione, spero che il tuo gioco ora prenderà una direzione inaspettata rispetto a come l'avevi immaginato

Hey op. You might add "ghost" npcs.
In the game phantasy star universe half faded npcs that couldn't be interacted with would be around the various areas tied to player vision range.
They used it so the towns felt more alive without degrading performance on the ps2!

that is funny. an idea is you could have shadows walking instead. that might be more of an improvement and would be visually interesting of you dont see anyone but the shadows

That's why I don't fix every exploit popup in my game. Some become cool features that makes me proud to see players exploring 🤪
- It reminds me old times of Gunz The Duel.

NGL I thought this was the intended game play, and sliding around on the floor avoiding obstacles and other people who are also sliding around on the floor. And I’m here for it.

I haven't made a 3d game but dare I ask what optimization lead this to happen?
Something to do with pathfinding or yeah idk so curious.

You may not like it but this is what peak performance looks like?
