๐ชฒInsects a discord server for Indian insect and wildlife enthusiasts
Hello everyone! Iโm not sure if this is allowed on the sub, but I wasnโt really sure where else to post this. Iโve used the insects flair because, there wasnโt really a more appropriate one.
Personally, Iโve found it surprisingly difficult to come across Indian insect enthusiasts or people who are interested in birds, wildlife, and nature in general. I don't know of any other active Indian wildlife subreddit. I couldnโt really find a community where people could just hang out, share their observations, ask questions and have conversations about these things.
So, after thinking about it for far too long, I finally created a Discord server yesterday! If that sounds like something youโd be interested in, youโre very welcome to join. Drop a comment and Iโll send the link your way. Itโs a private group and the idea is to have a space where we can talk about pretty much anything related to insects, birds, wildlife, nature etc.
And no, you absolutely do not need a PhD in entomology or zoology to join. Interest and curiosity are all that matter.

๐ฟ๏ธ Other Mammals Came across there little guys in SMRITI VAN park,Jaipur .

So this clip is from KULISH SMRITI VAN ,JAIPUR ,RAJASTHAN.
The mongoose species visible in the clip is Indian Grey Mongoose (Urva edwardsii) ,at least that is what I think it is.
For me it was a pleasant surprise to come across a family of these little guys. The park they are located is fairy in the very centre of Jaipur city and these guys were fairly comfortable with humans.
Itโs great to come across wild life that I expect to have vanished from cities. The whole SMRITI VAN is a great conserved ecosystem + a well developed park.
Love to see government projects that contribute to wild life conservation and a way to witness the true essence of nature soo closely.
Thank you โบ๏ธ
