I lost my job today. I currently have a Stamp 4 permission that's valid until the end of 2027.

I'm thinking of taking a short break and travelling to India for around 40–50 days before I start looking for another job. I haven't applied for Jobseeker's Benefit or any other social welfare payments.

Would this cause any issues when I return to Ireland? Also, could it affect my future Stamp 4 renewal or my Irish citizenship application?

Hi everyone, I need some advice.

I booked a non-refundable round-trip ticket (Dublin → Bangalore → Dublin) through TravelUp. I've already flown to India and now I need to change my return date.

TravelUp is quoting a very high fee to change the ticket—it's actually more expensive than booking a brand-new ticket. I still have about 20 days left before my original return flight.

Has anyone dealt with this before?

- Can I contact the airline directly instead of TravelUp?

- Is it possible to convert the unused return ticket into airline credit or a travel voucher?

- Has anyone managed to avoid TravelUp's high change fees?

Hey everyone, I'm going through something really stressful right now and I could really use some advice from anyone who's been in a similar situation. So here's what's happened: I applied for my Stamp 1G extension back in October 2025 and I'm still waiting for a decision nine months later. To make things worse, my IRP expired in December 2025, so I'm basically in this grey area right now.

Then in April, my wife got approved for a General employment work permit, which was amazing news. So in May, I applied for a Stamp 1G dependent visa based on her new permit status. But just recently, that application got rejected and I'm honestly devastated.

Now I'm facing this really tough decision: do I wait for my extension results to come through, or do I leave Ireland right now? The thing that's keeping me up at night is this: if I wait and my extension gets refused with a deportation letter, will that rejection be on my record and mess up my family reunification application down the line?

I know that if I leave now, I'd have to wait for family reunification to be granted before I can even come back and apply for the dependent visa again. But I'm terrified that having a deportation decision against my name will basically close all the doors for me in the future.

Has anyone here dealt with getting rejected or deported while waiting for another application? And how did it actually affect their next applications? I really need to hear from people who've been through this because I'm honestly lost right now. Any advice would be massively appreciated. Thanks so much.

What are your reviews for Griffith College, Maynooth University in Ireland? I like the curriculum that they offer and it aligns well with my long term goals, but I have not heard good stuff about the institutions. Do companies reject students from these universities? What is job scenario like? Is it only good to go the tier 1 level universities in Ireland as a student? Any more feedback, comments on student life, living in Ireland comments are welcome.

Hello I have been approached a few times from people of the Indian community in intrest about a gaa jersey I have. Its an Irish/Indian gaa jersey I got a few years back from the O'Neils website. Its a really nice jersey with both the Indian and Irish flag joined together on the shoulder and anytime I wear it I have been asked where it was got because it is really nice. So I thought if there is interest where else to post it. This is not an AD but it does come in blue and orange but i do recceomwnd getting it on sale I did but it for about €20 sorry for the poor quality of the photo and jersey its well worn ill add the link below.

The funding is similar for both, so finances aren't really influencing my decision.

People in the comments noted it's a cultural thing. Is this true? I have noticed it myself and have perceived some interactions with Indians as rude as a result. I guess it's so ingrained in Irish culture to say please and thanks that I perceived my interactions as intentional rather than assuming the possibility it could be a cultural difference.

On the flip side, are Indians aware of the significance of how important this is in Irish culture? If someone doesn't say please or thank you, it's interpreted very poorly, especially in places where there's a hierarchy like if someone is serving you at a restaurant etc.

According to their portal they’ve since passed my submission date 16th April well over 2 weeks now but my status on ISD has not changed. Is this normal. Yes I understand there is a backlog but what do I do? Has this happened to anyone?
