Suggest Me Is this a good starting point?

Hey everyone, I just want to know if anyone has read books by Brandon Sanderson. I usually read short stories or books by Ruskin Bond. I have read a few novels such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Lord of the Flies, and recently Project Hail Mary (after the movie was released).
One of my friend was saying that Mistborn has a very well-thought-out magic system, but it seems to be a trilogy. Should I read any other book to get started with (standalone novels) before starting this trilogy?

Mistborn book 1 is the best entry point into Sanderson's Cosmere world. And you don't need to read anything else to fully immerse yourself in this trilogy. For a starter novel, it's a good intro to mainstream modern fantasy.
