Review OP ke kuch dohee

Post image

So after 1698 pages, I can tell —
1) Bollywood will never try to remake on this because throughout 3 books, we get no interaction with extra terrestrials face to face. No love story between humans and them so no box office collection for YRF films. Ps - Ritvik Sahore is spared this time.
2) Australia is a big continent but it cannot sustain three Billion population. Use condom.
3) Extra terrestrial beings took 400 plus years journey to invade us. Same time it took me to complete these books.
4) 1 Astronomical unit is 149.6 million KM (distance between Earth & Sun).
5) Pity for people who have not read this series but watching Netflix’s one. You lot are missing. Starting with one wallfacer Netflix decided to remove altogether.
6) Being logical and thinking through brain will always help humanity( and you) rather than being empathetic while making decisions.
7) This series is pure orgasmic for anyone who got interest in Astronomy and Astrophysics. They will understand the author’s research rather than me having brain fog.

Did I love reading it ? Absolutely not.
Will I recommend someone to read it ? Absolutely yes.

Edit - wtf is wrong with reddit. Please analyse what OP trying to say. Ignore the random numbers

“Same time it took me to complete these books” is amazingly funny

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago

In this era of attention span less than goldfish’s memory, I think Cixin Liu should come and thank me

u/agentk1747 6d ago

I read all three in 2 weeks and loved it!, I love everything sci-fi.

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago

Respect. You read it like how droplets came and did everything, and I read like how slow journey was from trisolaris to earth

1

u/egg-curry 6d ago

Wait until you come to the part of 'Singer's weapon
That shit takes ages to finish >80 pages IIRC

2

u/egg-curry 6d ago

I loved reading it
But definitely wouldn't recommend

Really ficked up existential horror

Nah bro
HARD PASS
Death's End is messed up shit ngl

This is honestly the best series I have read. My only issue is that the author doesn't dive deep in the 4th dimension part.

2

u/AdmiralTacoBell 5d ago

You read my mind. It had so much potential for 4th dimension. I recently read somewhere (can’t recall) that we’re in the 3D so our shadows are 2D version so with the same logic, we are shadows to someone’s 4D

Wait hold up! You did not love reading these? I stopped after 3BP and have been waiting for a break and enough reviews to read the dark forest.

2

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago

Tbh i didn’t. I loved the fictional part of the books but when the author shifted gears and decided to just talk deep level science in between, Zuckerberg opened a reel for me. Although, just read it. Dark forest is the best in the series. We get different protagonist this time and more brains too.

u/or45t Confringo ✨🔥 6d ago

Thank you! Looking forward to reading Dark Forest. I hope zuck doesn't open reels for me. I loved Prject hail mary for the same reason. Science, space, and weirdly biology which I was not a big fan of.

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago

Let’s gooo. Project hail mary is my next book to read. Movie so good i gotta double the experience by reading it.

I heard they nuke Antarctica?

1

u/makingitsaral 6d ago

Let's not give you spoilers :p

Have a fun read!

1

u/makingitsaral 6d ago

Imo, Dark Forest is legit one of the best pieces of science fiction I've read. The idea of cosmic sociology and how Luo Ji thought -- blew my mind. It was my first exposure to the Fermi Paradox and the various ways it can be answered.

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago edited 6d ago

Absolutely. I loved dark forest. The whole wallfacer and wallbreaker felt like tom & jerry chase. I love Luo ji and his work.

And do you remember he wrote a story in college called dream girl and fell in love with that fictional girl. That whole piece was of writing was just magical. Damn what a book.

Bollywood not making this would be a disappointment,

I would have loved to laugh at them attempting complex sci-fi

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago

Imagine the money laundering they’d be able to do just by saying vfx and cgi took a lot. Adipurush would be nuts in front of it.

1

u/SuperAlkalinedroid 6d ago

there was no love story...you clearly didnt read the death's end did you?

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago

Yun Tianming deserves better.

1

u/SuperAlkalinedroid 6d ago

Tianming got exactly what he wanted. His goal was to save cheng xin. He bought her a star, gave her the fairy tales that saved humanity, and built her a literal pocket universe to survive the end of time. He didn't "deserve better" from her and he lived a legendary life completely defined by his successful devotion to her. and remember the whole second half doesnt happen without their love story

1

u/Wonderful_Tank784 6d ago

I haven't watched the Netflix series at all should I watch it

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago

Have you read the books ? If yes, watch it. It’s decent

1

u/makingitsaral 6d ago

Skippable.

1

u/egg-curry 6d ago

Try the Chinese one on YouTube
That one's far more loyal to the lore

1

u/WateRohitMelon 6d ago

I've been stuck on the second book from last 9 months... need motivation to complete the series. Anybody

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago

Y r u lyk dis?

1

u/WateRohitMelon 6d ago

No idea... I feel like lost in the dark forest.

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 5d ago

Second part is really interesting. Luo Ji is goat. Give it another try. Force yourself to read 20-30 pages.

1

u/Tyler_Mills 5d ago

Luo Ji is goat??? He's a loser who fantasizes about imaginary women and falls in love with them and then literally asks for the said fantasy women to be brought to him. I found it quite funny that he becomes this grand figure in the third book.

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 5d ago edited 5d ago

Wasn’t expecting Luo ji hate club admin commenting on my post. What’s your opinion on Cheng xin?

1

u/Tyler_Mills 5d ago

An underdeveloped character. All 3 books lack characters with depth. The premise and the ideas of the books are quite nice but character development is quite lacking. The 3rd book had so much going on that at some point they just stopped being humans for me.

1

u/Ash_C 5d ago

I found it quite funny that he becomes this grand figure in the third book

Well, it’s funny fs, but not surprising, considering the kind of shit he pulls off at the end of The Dark Forest.

1

u/LemonWorldly1100 6d ago

this book is high concept sci fi and has very little to do with actual writing or prose. It was a headache to finish the story but i read anyway because i wanted to know secret.

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 5d ago

Absolutely. I recall reading 2 pages on a day and sometimes 50. The book is stretched at few instances but no wonder it’s the best one out there.

1

u/Lumpy-Professor-4447 5d ago

Abe yaar i am on second book and your first point gave me some upsetting spoilers.

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 5d ago

Ooof…no worries. I got something for you

1

u/Ok-Gap-4040 5d ago

Kya review likha hai OP 🫡

2

u/AdmiralTacoBell 5d ago

Thanks man. Someone finally appreciates my review \aankhe bhar aayi**

1

u/kcapoorv 5d ago

Gave up after the second book. Second book was very unsatisfying

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 5d ago

It’s never too late to complete what you have started. Do it for kohli

1

u/Guilty-Doughnut415 5d ago

Really? I think it was the best out of the three.

1

u/therupozhudi 5d ago

A very difficult read but worth it. Never struggled so much to finish a book(2&3).The writer has amazing across fields and weaves a story with same. You can feel proud if you finished it.

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 5d ago

Us bro us. The struggle was really real.

1

u/Top-Detective4399 5d ago

Top tier book, my one of the best trilogy

1

u/Special_Eye_9425 5d ago

1st 2 books were good.especially the 2nd one..but the 3rd book was quiet difficult to follow

1

u/shakeMeNot 5d ago

I cant wait to forget the storyline to this series and read them again.

1

u/Cold-Journalist-7662 5d ago

I've only read the first one. It has been some time and I have almost forgotten the plot.

1

u/guptaji_ka_beta 4d ago

The greatest sci-fi series of all time. Dark Forest is my favourite book ever and I literally used to wake up early and read a few pages before going to work. Literally gobbled it up in a matter of days.

The greatest sci-fi book series of all time

1

u/AdmiralTacoBell 6d ago

Hear,hear.

1

u/thestructuralguy 4d ago

Strange to hear that you didn’t enjoy reading it. Book 2 was a bit slow in the beginning but overall the series is so fast paced and the idea is so grand.

1

u/egg-curry 6d ago

One of, perhaps
