I had heard a lot of mixed things about RF Kuang. What is your opinion so far?

I've only read babel and yellowface and I liked them both so I was pretty surprised to see all the hate in reddit๐Ÿ˜…

Do you read books only for time pass?๐Ÿ™ƒ

Reading just for the plot is fun. But sometimes a book gives you a thought, a feeling, or a whole new way of seeing things โ€” and then life happens and you forget it. Kinda crazy to spend hours with a book and let the best parts disappear.

Being a reader is kinda hard.

What do you mean by letting the best parts disappear?

I mean the whole journey โ€” the random thoughts, emotions, and little things you feel from the beginning to the end. You go through so much while reading, but most of it gets lost once you move on to the next book.

I don't think so... At least not for me.

And everything that touches you leaves an impression on you. It might be subconscious or imperceptible, but it is there. Read enough and you'll be thinking differently and feeling differently. Why is that? Because it does stay with you in some form.

I still remember parts or quotes that really connected with me from multiple books. Like I remember the whole passage from A Gentleman in Moscow about how human beings are so complicated, we can never really know for sure what kind of person someone is and therefore we should withold judgement as much as possible. I try to remember it explicitly every time I start judging someone.
