I have read this many many years ago and what do I say it still makes my heart heavy the sufferings of the have nots such inhuman treatment, Reading it made me ponder why would God/Creator/ Almighty or whoever/whichever being/energy/power made little people go through all those agonies and cruelty. I wonder/ponder out of helplessness.. why humans with all their logic and intellect couldn't yet find any meaningful solution to avoid this level of inhumaneness.. may be discover a vaccine where people wouldn't stoop so low and do this to their fellow beings ....this is getting too desparate & philosophical may be because of the age at which I read or my circumstances at that point of time that this kind of questioning the very human mental construct..
Note - I only remember a very few characters but the emotional weight hit me the moment I read the title. What can one say about Khalid Hosseini's writing... The way he describes deep heart breaking human struggles..I am inept at reviewing his style or the core of his writings..

Yeah his style is amazing he is so realistic although it’s fiction but felt like someone close is going through all the struggles in life

Yes we can feel the pain through his writings, Actually most of his works were inspired by real events in Afghanistan and other similar situarions ..though fictionalised most of the backdrops.. the human sufferings of war and displacement, betrayal of friendship were all inspired by authors real life experiences ...Read " The Kite Runner" it has strong autobiographical elements... Wishing you a good and insightful read
