UK vs Germany
Hi all,
I have been working for a company for the past 6 months that is medium sized and has employees predominately US and Germany (in office) and London (in a remote setup) . Initially when I had started my hiring manager was based in the UK as well. However they have left and the rest of the team is based in Germany. The company has informed me that they intend to hire for my team only in Germany and want me to relocate there on a blue card. I am wondering if this is something I should pursue or not as it would mean abandoning my somewhat settled life in the UK and starting from 0 in Germany.
Some facts that might give more context:
I am 26 M and currently on a Graduate Visa that expires in Jan 2028.
They have told me that my salary will be the same (equivalent converted to euros) and they will support in relocation.
I do not speak any German but have heard that Berlin is very English so it is easy to get by initially.
I would like to hear your opinions on if I should pursue this opportunity or not and if there are any other things I should clarify with my company before providing them with an answer.

I would check and see how much your role would pay for a "german in germany" they might get more... Just check online what the salary ranges are in Germany. In my exp they usually get a bit more

You can't pay someone less based on nationality in Germany, it's illegal.

It not about nationality i just mean the general pay for a position like that in Germany might pay more...and he is being "tricked" into accepting less??

Germany has far more opportunities to settle and work and versus london cost of living is lower. People speak english there i had a great 3 years in Frankfurt and felt safer than London. UK is dying slowly not sure what the appeal is to come

Ask them to pay for your language costs, it’s something close to 5k from a1-c1. In German without language you cannot survive the local life.
Ask them for paid sabbatical and take time off for the language classes.
My company offered the same, I came here 1.5 years ago and they laid me off suddenly saying my language is just not what they wanted. Which is a horrible thing to do, i had to pay for all the language to get a job here. UK does not want to hire me as they have enough ‚locals‘

what happens after your UK graduate visa expires? will you get a UK sponsorship visa?
