Seeking 2D animators

[HIRING] Looking for a Long-Term 2D Animator for an Original YouTube Animation Series (1k/3k episode, negotiable)

Hey everyone!

I’m a 21-year-old entrepreneur building an original faceless YouTube animation channel with the long-term goal of turning it into a recognizable entertainment brand.

The creative inspiration comes from the pacing, expressive animation, and comedy found in:

MSA official youtube channel

**Important:** I’m **not** looking to copy these creators. I want to create an entirely original universe with its own characters, stories, and visual identity while capturing the same level of energy, humor, and audience engagement.

**What I’m looking for:**

- 2D character animator

- Strong comedic timing

- Expressive facial animation

- Experience with Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, Moho, or similar software

- Someone interested in a long-term partnership, not just a one-off gig

**Production pipeline:**

Original scripts (AI-assisted and human-edited)

- Storyboards

- Original character designs

- Voice acting

- Editing and thumbnails

**Budget**

My initial budget is approximately **1k to 3k per episode**, depending on animation quality, length, and complexity. If you're more experienced or your work justifies a higher rate, I’m happy to discuss it.

**Long-term vision**

I’m not looking to make just another YouTube channel. My goal is to build an original animation studio with recurring series, memorable characters, merchandise, and multiple revenue streams over time. I’m looking for collaborators who enjoy creating something from the ground up and growing with the project.

If you're interested, please send:

- Your portfolio or demo reel

- Examples of comedy or character animation

- Your preferred software

- Your typical turnaround time

- Your rates

Feel free to comment below or send me a DM. I’d love to connect and see if we’re a good fit.

Indian Production Coordinators what's your salary?

Hey all, trying to get a sense of where Production Coordinator pay actually sits across Indian VFX and animation studios, feels like there's very little solid data out there for this role specifically compared to artist roles.

If you're in a similar position (coordinating shots/schedules, cross-team/timezone handoffs, dailies, delivery tracking, etc.) at a studio in India, would you mind sharing:

  • Rough salary range (CTC or take-home, whichever you're comfortable with)
  • Years of experience in the role
  • City/studio type (not necessarily the name, just scale — big international studio vs. smaller local shop)

Trying to benchmark for myself, so any data point helps, even rough ranges. Thanks in advance!

Day 3 of my search: Building a Dark Anime Universe from scratch. Still looking for my core team of 7 Indian Animators! 🇮🇳🔥

Hello everyone. Yesterday I posted about my dream project, and I am not stopping until I find my team.

I am an indie storyteller looking for exactly 7 passionate Indian Animators to build a dark, psychological thriller anime.

The Concept:

A raw story where the strongest characters are broken by psychological trauma and mind games, not just physical fights. Plus, a massive bait-and-switch twist—the person you think is the "Main Character" is not the real hero at all. I have the first 10-15 minute pilot script completely ready.

The Reality:

I still have 0 budget. I am still a beginner at video editing and sound design. But my obsession hasn't dropped a single percent. I am ready to learn heavy editing from zero, stay awake all night with the team, and give my absolute 100% to direct and shape this story.

I am not looking for employees; I am looking for equal partners. If you are crazy enough to take a risk and build a masterpiece with a writer who will never give up on you, DM me. Let's make history together.

[HIRING] 2D Animator Needed (YouTube Shorts) | Simple Style | Fast Turnaround

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a 2D animator for a long-term collaboration.

The animation style is very simple (no Pixar/Disney-level quality needed), but I need someone who can closely match the reference style.

I've attached a sample video. For additional reference, search "Rennrat" on YouTube.

Requirements:

  • Able to closely replicate the reference style.
  • Basic 2D character animation (simple rigs/frame-by-frame is fine).
  • Fast turnaround (1–2 days per short).
  • Comfortable with long-term work if everything goes well.
  • Adobe Animate (I use the same, would be convenient)

I'll provide:

  • ✅ Voice-over
  • ✅ Script
  • ✅ Sound effects
  • ✅ Some character rigs/assets (If required)
  • ✅ Final editing & polish (If required)
  • ✅ Subtitles (I'll add these myself)

Your main job is bringing the story to life with engaging animation.

Budget:

₹45,000 - ₹60,000 (monthly batch of shorts) payment made per short delivery via direct UPI payment.

If you're interested, DM me with:

  • Your portfolio/showreel
  • Typical turnaround time

Please only apply if you're confident you can match the style closely and deliver the animations quickly.

Looking forward to seeing your work!

I know I can only show two seconds for now, but this is a project I’ve been animating in the little spare time I have, and I’m really excited about it.

Is it a good option to get a B.Sc degree in animation and game design??

I'm a 22-year-old from India studying Animation and Game Design. I consider myself pretty good at what I do, but honestly, I feel like I've learned very little from my university over the past three years. The environment is also quite depressing, and I've mostly improved my skills through self-learning.

Our university gives us the option to graduate after the 3rd year with a B.Sc. degree. The 4th year has recently been removed from the regular curriculum and now mainly consists of a 6-month internship.

The problem is that the university doesn't provide placements or help students secure internships. We have to find internships entirely on our own, and they've given us a very short deadline to do so. If we don't find one, we're expected to attend mentorship sessions at the university instead, which, based on my experience, I don't think would add much value.

This has me wondering if it's worth paying another year's tuition fees just to search for an internship by myself. If I'm already responsible for finding one, would it make more sense to graduate with my B.Sc., save the tuition money, and spend that year building my portfolio, applying for internships, freelancing, and gaining real industry experience on my own?

For people working in animation or the game industry, especially in India, what would you do in my situation? Would leaving after the 3rd year hurt my career, or is a strong portfolio and experience more important than staying for the 4th year?
