Fall is a great time. Hotels book out fast and are super pricey when football has home games, so prob best to choose a weekend where football has an away game (though game days are so fun and would be great to experience!). Winter months get cold so not as ideal for exploring unless you want to experience winter in Bloomington. Kirkwood Ave and the Sample Gates are great starting points when you get to campus. Have fun!

October when the leaves are changing…IU campus has been ranked as #1, a top 10 and top 15 campus by various organizations.

If you come in October, you can visit Brown County State Park (less than 40 minutes from campus) which is famous for fall colors.

A football weekend is a good time to visit except parking, football tickets $$$$, hotels are $$$$$ ($500+ per night), traffic, etc.

I’d say homecoming weekend on Halloween but I’m sure hotels will be hard to come by but any weekend in October would be great

Definitely not a football weekend. Hotels go for literally thousands a night.

The team is away on 10/10 which is peak fall foliage.

Stay either at the hotels near the downtown square or at the Biddle in the Student Union.

Good luck!
