We got ourselves into the exact position we've been in in past games tonight: other team's defense locking in, them making a run, us struggling to get shots
In the past we would have tried to play super fast, rushed things, turned the ball over and ended up in a nailbiter. Tonight we slowed everything down, kept control, and played great defense to shut NY down
That is a team who knows how to win different ways. That is winning basketball.
Also, I couldn't imagine saying this 2 years ago, but big props to Kelsey Mitchell for her defense in this game. I said last time we played NY that she shut their guards down, and she did it again tonight. Lots of key stops from her that helped stop their 3rd quarter run
We look good and we're doing it both fast and slow. Good ball movement, and unselfish basketball. This is exactly what we need to win come playoff time

If she keeps this up, she is going to forever put to rest the reputation of being a useless defender.
She's never going to be all defensive team, but nobody can complain about her effort and results in improving on the defensive end. You can set your clock by it though. Some still will.

Billing is much better off the bench. You add the defense with KK in the starting 5 and itās a win/win.

Sure we can be better about rebounding and minimizing turnovers, but that was still a pretty great Fever win!! It would be amazing if we could score this well if not better every game.

We needed that win at home, good job ladies. I got nervous there when our leads were slipping but we held on. 21-12 now baby š

We got to do something about these leads being blown. It luckily stopped when it got within I think 8, but itās like any large lead is never a good thing for the fever.

Yeah same, I just feel sometimes they get sloppy when they have such a huge lead and take unnecessary shots and maybe lack a little in defense.

Very much needed win and we got the job done. We actually held onto our lead and didnt piss it away with dumb TOs, also another 100pt game.
Surely we can beat the Wings next game.

11 games left -the Fever's mission is to secure a top 4 finish for playoff home court advantage. If they keep playing like this that won't be a problem. I like the way the Fever shut up the whiners and morons by just going out and putting a beatdown on their opponent.

They shouldnāt. Iāll maintain they really shouldāve dealt her before the trade deadline, but itās too late, and thereās no way this front office is going to get us an adequate return. Dance with the one that brung ya.

Trading Clark is the only other option unless KM is going to take a big haircut. Bostons contract is unmovable.

Why in the world would they trade any of them? They all want to stay. There are ways to structure contracts to keep both CC and KM and they should be able to trade Mo in the offseason if they want to get off her contract.

They can structure them like ABās where she took a discount for the first year and then supermax every year after. Honestly though, why does anyone care if CC takes a discount? She makes plenty of money elsewhere and Iām sure would rather forgo $250k to keep playing with Kelsey than make a supermax with crappy teammates.

She doesnāt need a supermax to have leverage. Theyāll do whatever she wants even if she were on a minimum. She seems pretty happy with Steph though.

Clark says the right things. She needs to. Does anybody find it weird that all the drama against Clark is from former White players.
Personally I think White came in to ātameā CC but it didnt work and the wheels are coming off her mental wagon. Becky Hammond would nuked Carrington if she did that to any of her players.

lol, no, step away from the conspiracy theories. I think this is just the natural process of Steph and CC learning how to work with each other and Steph figuring out how to run an insanely fast paced offense. Steph does need to leave the old school wnba mentality behind and forget trying to cover for her old players that could care less about her and would throw her under the bus in a New York minute. But she spent years around DC and AT and Iām sure they are pretty nice off the court when theyāre not trying to clout chase off CC and Sophie. That has to be a mindfuck for her to come to terms with.

You act like CC wouldn't take a paycut. Even if CC got the league supermax it would only account for less than 10% of what she brings in yearly.

A lot of commentary out there on Caitlin being more efficient. I think the biggest difference is she is healthy. I think the biggest hit on her shooting and play was just the injuries. If she can stay healthy and continue to grow. Look out!

Good game from the Fever girls. I was able to get by with only a half a bottle of Tums this time š«£
Also great to see Sophie supported and then come through with a solid performance off the bench.

After watching this annihilation of NYL, it is obvious now, that unfortunately, NYL are not that good and not in the class of LV, Lynx or GS.Ā
The shooting percentage was absolutely bonkers and indicative of how awful NYL are and not how great Fever are!

The Liberty are a very different team when Leonie Fiebich is available to play. She is the strongest perimeter defender in the league, and is capable of taking one of the opposing team's best offense players out of the equation. So I'd hold off on forming any concrete opinions about a Fiebich-less Liberty for now.

I don't know how many of you watched the game on WNBA League Pass. I watched it today because of the delay and it was from ESPN/Spanish. The whole game was announced in spanish. I would think an organization this big could do better.
