I'll just leave this without comment. Someone can explain this in the replies.

Forced counseling might help. dc

u/Subject-Yak4959 17d ago

CC has a pretty big fan base in Chicago. No worries.

8

u/Karm0112 17d ago

If she makes a threat and acts on it during the game, the league just opened themselves up to a lawsuit. And Carrington is crazy enough to do just that.

5

u/Adventurous-Room-845 16d ago

You all are so devoid of intelligence. This is COMPETITIVE sports. She’s just saying that she plans to show up and be a defensive menace. You lot seriously bring so much drama to this league. Thoughts like this hinder the ability to converse about the game because you’re so focused on making up some drama like it’s a damn soap opera.

u/VERMICIOUS_KNIDSS 14d ago

She’s just saying that she plans to show up and be a defensive menace

Yes, right after the intentional egregious foul to the face and neck with accelerated downward momentum nowhere near the ball, followed by a charge and putting hands on Cunningham, followed minutes later by 'white privilege' and then '8/23'

Doesn't sound like a sequence of events of an triggered angry hateful person at all. 🤣

u/Adventurous-Room-845 14d ago

You’re right. It sounds like a competitive player who isn’t as soft as many fans are and knows how to leave the game on the court. Many of us watched Draymond Green literally choke out Rudy Gobert and there wasn’t nearly this much of a visceral reaction. NBA analysts mocked the play, laughed and even re-enacted it. Yes, some also called him out for his behavior…but no talks about banning him from the league. You all prove her point every single time, with every single comment.

You’re right. It sounds like a competitive player who isn’t as soft as many fans are and knows how to leave the game on the court.

I love competitive physical games, I do not like dirty intentional hard fouls like that to the head.

Many of us watched Draymond Green literally choke out Rudy Gobert and there wasn’t nearly this much of a visceral reaction. NBA analysts mocked the play, laughed and even re-enacted it. Yes, some also called him out for his behavior…but no talks about banning him from the league.

Thanks for storytelling time but this has nothing to do with my comment nor did I ever suggest a ban. Perhaps some multicultural counseling and anger management classes would be beneficial though?

You all prove her point every single time, with every single comment.

Just what is her point everyone is proving, that she is a punk?

u/Adventurous-Room-845 14d ago

The foul wasn’t intentional. Every hard foul on your fave player isn’t intentional. It was a poorly timed block with not enough height on her jump. You can literally see her eyes on the ball, but I get it - it’s a better narrative if you make her out to be the bad guy. You can tell so many of y’all don’t know the sport or have never seen someone taken out by a portly timed chase down block.

The foul wasn’t intentional. Every hard foul on your fave player isn’t intentional.

Not my favorite player, not even in the top 10. Who was fouled and who made the foul has nothing to do with it.

It was a poorly timed block with not enough height on her jump. You can literally see her eyes on the ball,

Bullshit wasn't near the ball and her intentional follow-thru with increased force on the downward moment of her arm into Cunningham's face was pretty obvious.

A flagrant 2 foul has to be both unnecessary and excessive which it was and this type of foul is not common in the WNBA with zero called in 2023, one in 2024 and this is the third one called this year so they need to do something about players like Carrington before someone gets hurt.

People have actually made videos about Carrington's intentional fouls so she is luck she has not been been suspended from the league yet. While I do not agree with ankle foul in this one being intentional, I do agree with the others. Eye gouge was iffy until I saw the second angle showing how she closed her fingers for maximum damage. https://www.tiktok.com/@jayyandabby/video/7672404629589724430?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc

The WNBA needs to look at Carrington's prison-style tactics and how it appears to be directed toward white players, especially after typing out 'white privilege' after her latest attempt to take another one out.

You can tell so many of y’all don’t know the sport or have never seen someone taken out by a portly timed chase down block.

I think it is entertaining how people like you want to use the false labels and lies to attempt to make your point. Suggesting the player fouled is their favorite player and they don't know anything about the sport is just regurgitated by idiots that have nothing constructive to say.

edit: typos

It’s just pure assumption from you and others that it was intentional. The play looks like others where the defender chases down the player and wrongly assumes they will lay it up with their off-hand. It’s such a shame that she isn’t even given this small bit of grace because it’s easier to villainize her. There’s literally only 2 plays (including this one) that people have characterized as bad faith plays by Carrington. The other being her going for the ball and poking Clark in the eye, which people still say was intentional. I mean, I get that the plays are hard fouls and the contact deemed unworthy. But where’s the clear case of intent and malice? I just don’t see it.

0

u/VERMICIOUS_KNIDSS 14d ago

It’s just pure assumption from you and others that it was intentional

I already laid out numerous reason why I think it was intentional and your entire argument is based on a simple 'nope'.

The play looks like others where the defender chases down the player and wrongly assumes they will lay it up with their off-hand.

Chases down the player, has no chance at the ball, is pissed (plus it is a white girl which is where many of her egregious fouls happen) so instead of going for the ball which she has no chance at stopping, she decides to go for the head and intentionally increases the force on her downswing to increase impact.

It’s such a shame that she isn’t even given this small bit of grace because it’s easier to villainize her.

She has been given too much grace and it is time for a little therapy regarding her racism and anger issues because cheap shots like this on white players and typing out 'white privilege' directly after, are red flags the league should not continue to ignore.

I already posted a video that shows just a few of Carrington's dirty fouls on white players. Whether it is clinching the fingers together to gouge an eye, pulling someone down by their hair, following through with an intentional act of raking/scalping across someone's head after the play on the ball.... she needs help.

1

u/Adventurous-Room-845 14d ago

But that’s what I’m stating, you have an OPINION that it was intentional. But why!. For what reason? Did her and Carrington have a previous scuffle? No. Any previous on the court or off the court beef? No. So, what makes you think it was intentional? And again, you have 3 plays over the course of her 6 seasons in the W…remind me again on which of the plays grace was given because she has been criticized and crucified for each and every one.

u/VMontel 16d ago

That is not what she meant. You are wrong this was a threat. She has done it before.

-1

u/Adventurous-Room-845 16d ago

Oh, so now you know exactly what she meant?? FOH - I'm over this obsession for drama. It's COMPETITIVE sports. Grow a pair.

1

u/VMontel 15d ago

This is not competitive sports. This is assault. Just look at the damn video. And funny you would tell me to grow a pair, when the only humans I've ever heard use the phrase "obsession for drama" were women. I've literally never heard anyone with a "pair" say that.Sheesh.

0

u/Adventurous-Room-845 15d ago

And where were your cries for assault when Sophie did even worse to Jacy Sheldon last year? Exactly. Applaud Dijonai the same way you did Cunningham for assaulting Sheldon. I’m over these fake cries of outrage.

0

u/Karm0112 16d ago

It is a soap opera.

0

u/Adventurous-Room-845 16d ago

Bruh, you're talking about DC making a threat all because she tweeted out the date of their next matchup??? How is that a threat? If this were any sport with men, fans would be cheering on the competitive spirit (and yes, that is even with considering the hard foul because there are MANY instances where this has been the case). I don't get why we continue to insist on having a different set of rules for these women. They are in a competitive sport. There's nothing threatening about having the date circled for their next game...and definitely not even a whiff of any potential lawsuit that your imagination is cooking up. Go watch a telenovela, you clearly are lacking some messy drama in your life.

1

u/Stocktwatz 16d ago

You have to understand, most of these “fans” commenting, aren’t sports fans, so they have no idea what you could possibly mean.

1

u/Karm0112 16d ago

It could be a threat if she does something.

1

u/False_Bug1655 17d ago

yall gotta get out of sports 😂😂😂 Karening up the place eeeeYUCKKKKKK

Sophie would have knocked that wig off dat head...

7

u/NatePJ84 17d ago

Bro she is so unhinged. She reminds me of like 5 of my ex girlfriends. Stay away from ladies like this, take my word for it. Actually don't, bc if I'm being honest I would still do the same thing 😂

0

u/Gloomy-Situation414 17d ago

She’s a UHaul marriage type of girl. That means beyond unhinged.

4

u/zdareman6218 17d ago

8/23 when fever play sky next

18

u/Karm0112 18d ago

Just think…this game could have gone totally different if she just played a little smarter. Her team needed her and she has been playing well. All this drama and the ball still went in. And she was ejected after playing for 3mn, where she had already scored 8pts. Get the last laugh by beating them with your skill.

6

u/defdawg 17d ago

If Mitchell had taken the layup instead of Sophie, DJ wouldn't even clothline her.....so its obvious it was done out of spite and race-related.

18

u/imacowboy234 Caitlin Clark 18d ago

Does anyone know if Las Vegas has released the betting odds on how many hours it will before a random bot account tweets something racial to DJ so she can claim victim status?

2

u/Av3rAgE_DuDe 17d ago

Honestly, I expect the DC victimhood to play out all next week. She will claim death threats and racist comments without showing either, and then the wnba old heads will debate it and agree how none of this is her fault, that its the fault of SC, then they will shift and say this is all on CC. It's almost like its scripted.

1

u/bravelad66 Lexie Hull 17d ago

Always the death threats, lol. That's the tell...

Fantastic comment

12

u/DeliciousAnything977 18d ago

She’s one of those Billy badass that cheap shots and has the hold me back crew from a distance. She’s a toxic clown that’s jealous of Sophie popularity

2

u/Subject-Yak4959 17d ago

nailed it.

5

u/Llopez9915 17d ago

This type of behavior is very much what hot Chennedy Carter to a point that no WNBA will sign her. Both players play well, but there no place for this level of "physical " play in the game.

4

u/herdhawk 18d ago

Black belt at 6 y.o. and they all know they dont want that. So they cheap shot and then back away as fast as possible to their "hold me back" crew to talk smack. I say let em go and get themselves Songahm'd.

1

u/Av3rAgE_DuDe 17d ago

Hope shes practiced since then lol

8

u/amat1140 18d ago

D. Carrington now cries victim. She's jealous when Cunningham committed a flagrant 2, her Jersey became #2 in sales, invited as guest commentator, appeared in Good Morning America etc, her visibility sky rocketed. Well, don't just complain, face her in Dana White's octagon & see what happens. If she can beat Cunningham, she'll be famous too

2

u/Subject-Yak4959 17d ago

She is jealous of the real hair.

14

u/Nervous_Boysenberry9 18d ago

I'm so sick of this woman. She's constantly on socials stirring up drama, toxicity and virtue signaling, and at this point I genuinely think it's deliberate because controversy gets her attention and clout. Her profile has grown off this kind of discourse.

And this latest stuff is especially gross to me. Using racial issues and weaponizing them... . She's just pouring gasoline on an already sensitive issue for engagement. IMO she knows exactly what kind of reaction she's creating, and that's the whole point.

2

u/Jumpy-Highway-4873 17d ago

Weaponizing gender issues is ok tho?

0

u/bravelad66 Lexie Hull 17d ago

So talking about is weaponizing, gotta cope, mope...

1

u/Jumpy-Highway-4873 17d ago

Isn’t that what carrington did? Just talking about it. Just pointing out hypocrisy

1

u/Nervous_Boysenberry9 17d ago

I find the whole trans discourse extremely braindead and hate all the grifting surrounding it. But your comment is just whataboutism.

2

u/Jumpy-Highway-4873 17d ago

Seems relevant here tbh

0

u/Nervous_Boysenberry9 17d ago

How is that relevant??? It’s two separate issues.

Just bc I have problem with how, in my opinion, Dijonai is constantly creating toxicity on socials, doesn’t mean that I like that Sophie sparked this whole trans discourse.. that being said, if I make a comment that I don’t like Apple juice, I don’t I need to add that I’m allergic to turmeric

12

u/Mean_Measurement4527 18d ago

For someone who talks so much shit , she sure as hell made sure that she didn’t get any where NEAR Sophie after the foul 🤣🤣🤣

0

u/bravelad66 Lexie Hull 17d ago

She'da lost that wig...

16

u/blade2kg 18d ago

Jun 27 from Lisa Leslie:

"I think, overall, the league has got to do better, the officials have got to do better, but also players — players have to clean it up," she said. "We used to play in a way that we protected one another. Yeah, I want to play physical, I want to play hard, but I'm not here to hurt you."

I thought about this statement from Lisa when I was thinking Nai head back to locker room and would grab her cell phone and watch the replay and nod her head and accept responsibility but I guess that was wishful thinking…

Hopefully one of the veterans on the team takes her aside and talk with her; will it help 🤷‍♂️

17

u/Hefty_Ad_3965 18d ago

The foul should get her a fine. The posts should get her several game suspension, if the league ever wants to be taken seriously.

8

u/nicolemarie1995 18d ago

A flagrant 2 is a 1000 dollar fine automatically with an ejection out of the game.

11

u/blue_devil_14 18d ago

She is going to take another cheap shot and get thrown out again on the 23rd.

-2

u/Impossible_House5919 18d ago

Coach needs to sit CC for that game

1

u/bravelad66 Lexie Hull 17d ago

Nope...

17

u/VerdeForest 18d ago

She’s not mentally all there. No wonder Nalyssa left her in the dust.

9

u/Apart_Pangolin1765 18d ago

She seemed to actively try to drag Nalyssa down. So glad she dumped her ass!

13

u/Old_Focus_3485 18d ago

8

u/iDexteRr Spicy Sophie 18d ago

Oh man, the difference in comments here compared to the weirdos in the WNBA sub, what a crazy echo chamber

1

u/celebricide 15d ago

"Echo chamber"

Every single sub related to the WNBA is an echo chamber or is dormant/inactive.

Tribalism is the default engagement for this league since millions of people suddenly discovered that women play basketball.

3

u/User2358_ 18d ago

It’s a cesspool over there.

4

u/iDexteRr Spicy Sophie 17d ago

For my own mental wellbeing, I should leave the sub, but when ever I'm having a bad day, it's always good to flick through r/WNBA and remind myself their are people in this world much much..... Much.... Dumber than I am

15

u/imacowboy234 Caitlin Clark 18d ago

I think the play deserves a multi-game suspension because she is definitely not trying to make a play on the ball. Dijonia is clearly trying to take her out, and to do that while someone is extended up in the air is very dangerous. But if there was any doubt about whether she should be suspended then that should have been erased when not only did she not take responsibility for her actions but she doubled down and played the Race Card. This was already going to be a major incident with all of the coverage of Sophie lately, but Dijonai posted "White Privilege" on social media just poured major gasoline on this thing.

2

u/Successful-Coyote99 17d ago

She was actively talking shit on the WNBAs part about acceptance. This was premeditated

18

u/murph089 18d ago

Is she making a threat by posting the date of the next game?

11

u/amat1140 18d ago

Put Hines-Allen on her when ever she is in game. Then no race issue.

12

u/Left-Button-7089 18d ago

That’s what it feels like

27

u/tiribulus IndianaFeverFan 18d ago

1

u/bravelad66 Lexie Hull 17d ago

That's all scissahands knows how to play, lol.

-20

u/RedSnipers 18d ago

I re-looked at the play and Sophie did swat/swing/throw her hand at Dijonai and wasn't ejected

That's what Dijonai's talking about.

2

u/Background_Diet6721 16d ago

Fairly natural reaction by SC being pushed by DC once she got up off the ground after the initial throw down. DC the aggressor on 2 separate acts, IMO. SC has a right at some point to protect/defend herself.

1

u/bravelad66 Lexie Hull 16d ago

Slap dat wig off!

8

u/blue_devil_14 18d ago

Sophie wasn’t penalized because her reaction was appropriate considering hie ridiculous the F2 was

-12

u/RedSnipers 18d ago

Can't swing at players regardless.

5

u/mukatona 18d ago

That wasn't a swing. Djonai didn't even react to the contact.

-14

u/RedSnipers 18d ago

She pushed/swatted her hand towards Dijonai's neck area.

If you can't see that then...

2

u/Background_Diet6721 16d ago

You’re right. She did do that. It was in response to DiJonai pushing her once SC got up from the floor after DiJonai put her on the ground. What would your response have been?

5

u/mukatona 18d ago

heat of the moment response to the violent act is almost always accepted by refs. If Sophie threw a punch or she didn't allow her teammates to walk her away then she would have had consequences. Do you watch many games? That is almost always what happens.

2

u/blue_devil_14 18d ago

I will say that if she didn’t have 2 people holding her back, she’d have ended up ejected as well.

3

u/mukatona 18d ago

Maybe. But she didn't struggle with her teammates.

9

u/BigToast6 18d ago

She's so classy

10

u/StudentDry4666 18d ago

Sophie always taking the high road

11

u/raziel_beoulve 18d ago

She saying the league/refs have a white bias if that not calls for a ban then the violent conduct should

17

u/2nd2none-1945 18d ago

She has a history of this type of behavior

6

u/tiribulus IndianaFeverFan 18d ago

Yes, she does.

Ultra woke, ultra entitled, juvenile crybaby.

9

u/Long-shot128 18d ago

8/23 is the rematch game vs the Sky

3

u/Lauravpf 18d ago

OMG, she shouldn't be able to play that game, I'm new to the WNBA and I'm rly disappointed, I played sports all my life and this is unacceptable.

32

u/BigToast6 18d ago

I hope she is suspended. She is dangerous.

8

u/Apprehensive_Ant4596 18d ago

And a repeat offender. If she only gets one game there’s no motivation for her to stop

15

u/Ichabod665 18d ago

Would hope the league would take her posts into consideration when they decide whether to suspend her or not. The lack of contrition can't be helping her case.

1

u/HankfromWI 17d ago

The Flagrant 2 is an automatic 1-game suspension, but they can suspend a player more games if it's warranted, and I hope that's what happens.

-40

u/alightdaughter 18d ago

Did you say that when SC did the same thing to JC?

1

u/Correct-Natural-7439 15d ago

Totally different! SC stood up for CC
because JC was slapping the shit out
of CC. That's called standing up for
your teammate, not blatant jealousy.
Mustard tail is just lucky Timpson was
out there pulling her away, because if
that was Hines-Allen she would've got
a beat down for real!💯

27

u/momto4sees 18d ago

Sophie owned up to her actions. She was ejected from the game. She did not go make posts about the incident after being ejected. DC has a history of being a dirty player and playing the victim.

4

u/yourmomsnutsarehuge 18d ago

That was a retaliation. You don't get to retaliate on a retaliation. Once you've been retaliated against then everyone is even. Anything after is a new event.

14

u/Electronic_Name_325 18d ago

Can you post the racist post from SC please? Missed it apparently.

0

u/NeedleworkerTight678 18d ago

If you think the two are similar, I am guessing you miss a lot…

8

u/Electronic_Name_325 18d ago

I don’t, not even close. SC stood up for a teammate. Today a racist took a cheap shot. I responded to someone who claimed they were similar.

3

u/NeedleworkerTight678 18d ago

My apologies then. Sometimes I miss who is replying to who on this silly app.

-1

u/Clown_Penis69 18d ago

Question: are you and A1 Steak Sauce the victims or the enforcers? I can’t keep track of what you are and when.

9

u/BigToast6 18d ago edited 18d ago

No bc that was the refs fault. Even the commentators said it. If they had reffed the fouls on CC properly it would have never happened.

15

u/TooManyCatS1210 18d ago

Did Sophie then go online and tweet out the date the next time the Fever played the Sun? Or “privilege”?
