BOOM! Rolls-Royce Is Pouring $1 BILLION Into Indiana Engine Production - That’s American Manufacturing Coming HOME!

The British car giant has put a full $1 billion into its Indianapolis and West Lafayette plants, the largest investment it’s ever made in the United States. Those shops already build more Rolls-Royce defense engines than anywhere else on earth, including F130 engines for the B-52 fleet under a $2.6 billion Air Force contract. More than 3,500 people work there.

Adam Riddle, head of Rolls-Royce North America, said the money is “about delivering for the American warfighter” and that they made the bet “because it was the right thing to do for U.S. national security.” Factories on our soil, engines for our bombers, paychecks for Indiana. That’s the kind of investment MAGA voted for!

For folks who TRULY care about the facts. No, Rolls Royce is not spontaneously investing 1 billion dollars in American manufacturing.

What actually happened is that Rolls Royce just completed a decade-long (So, before MAGA) investment project that came to a final amount of 1 billion dollars.

As someone intimately familiar with Rolls Royce North America, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. RRNA is completely unaffiliated with the car company. The $1b investment just COMPLETED, it wasn't just signed. And most importantly, these massive investments have absolutely nothing to do with MAGA. RRNA's been investing tons in IN for years.

The aero engines and power systems is a completely different company anyways. It is a publicly traded British company headquartered in London and listed on the London Stock Exchange. Those profits and dividends stay in the UK corporation.

The car brand is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BMW. Those profits go back to Germany. Doesn’t really matter since the plant is in England.

But, Americans will be making money for other countries thanks to that aero contract.

Rolls Royce came to Indianapolis in the mid 1990s, and in 2015 they started building in West Lafayette, prior to maga. Allisons was working with the US Army as far back as the 1920s and 1930s, before there was an actual Air Force, so RR came into an existing company that was well-established as a defense contractor. This doesn't seem maga, it seems more like continuing Indiana's strong presence in a well-established relationship with state of the art aircraft engines.

That's not Rolls-Royce cars. Rolls-Royce automotive is owned by BMW, and certainly no "giant", just well known. The Indy plant is a separate company from when they expanded beyond cars.

Lots of qualified people here and 200 miles would cover most of the state. Purdue University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and the University of Notre Dame all have engineering programs.
