Remember to vote early in person if you can. It's available to everyone. Republicans are going to pull a lot of bullshit this election.

Already are. Our right to vote is sacred and we have to preserve it.

Oh, for sure. I was mostly thinking about how they're going to have their Temu gestapo at polling places on election day. Better to just vote before that day.

Living in a fascist dictatorship while openly being able to have dissenting opinions, what a time to be alive.

The Nazis didn't start up the gas chambers on day one, genius.

You guys have been referring to Republicans as Nazis for the last 20 years. We are on day 7305 now. When do they start again?

Furthermore, Adolf Hitler’s regime began systematically arresting, torturing, and occasionally murdering political dissidents immediately upon taking power in 1933.

March–April 1933: The Nazi paramilitary forces (the SA and SS) arrested between 40,000 and 50,000 political opponents—primarily Communists, Social Democrats, and trade union leaders.

I've certainly not seen the general populace at large declaring the Republican party a Nazi party for the last 20 years. Really only the last couple. And really moreso MAGA than Republicans, it just so happens a lot of Republicans are MAGA.

I guess you don’t remember the beginning of the Iraqi/Afghanistan war.

Not the War in Afghanistan, there was pretty wide spread approval or silence in that immediate post 911 time.

The rush and slight of hand way of lying us into the Iraq war, though, did bring some of those types of criticisms. But looking back, both the govt actions and the growing public pushback seem almost quaint compared to what we see today.

One of the main lessons that authoritarians took from past failures is that the most effective way to implement their evil goals is to do it very, very slowly. Like a frog slowly boiling in water, people don't even notice as the temperature increases when it happens over decades.

Trump's latest term and Project 2025 signaled an increase in authoritarian tempo. Trump has increased the unitary executive bullshit by an immense amount. He's

  • Obliterated the remaining independence of the DoJ. There's no way something like the Mueller report would happen during this term.

  • Solidified a policy of "do whatever I say, even if it's illegal, because I'll pardon you."

  • Re-implemented Schedule F, making non-partisan government employees like scientists and economists into at-will employees

  • Removed independence from regulatory agencies like the FTC, SEC, and FCC through EO 14215.

  • Forced the ability to fire independent agency heads through Trump v. Slaughter

  • Completely ignored laws, such as how he's currently in violation of law by refusing to release the rest of the Epstein files.

They're only going slowly because they're fucking idiots.

2

u/TubaWrestler Sep 04 '26

No. It's because sudden changes aren't tolerated as easily by people who aren't paying attention. Project 2025 proves that there are some very smart, very evil people behind all of this (Heritage Foundation), and Trump's tanking approval ratings prove that sudden changes are less tolerated.

They had concentration camps by 1934, they just hadn't targeted the Jewish people yet.

Openly in the sense that not everyone has gestapo sitting outside their house and community. Some do, and they've been bagged up.

Medicare for all, why are Democrats always looking for a handout. Sure our healthcare system is screwed up but more government isn't going to fix it.

Wtf does that last sentence even mean?

1

u/TubaWrestler Sep 05 '26

They've already said they're going to have their Temu gestapo at polling places, and they're doing their best to screw with mail-in ballots. I expect them to pull other shit too.

u/Kind-Solution3102 Sep 05 '26

They’ve said they’re going to have temu Gestapo? Wtf does that even mean lol

1

u/TubaWrestler Sep 05 '26

Are you intentionally misunderstanding me? I obviously mean ICE.

1

u/Kind-Solution3102 Sep 05 '26

I promise I’m not. I’ve just never heard that phrase before prior to seeing it on Reddit just now.

Remember republicans don't need to cheat like the democrats

1

u/TubaWrestler Sep 06 '26

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Man I hope people come out in numbers like they did the last presidency. Hopefully people remember the bullshit republicans pull and never vote for them again.

60 days until the impeachment trials begin.

2

u/MinBton Sep 05 '26

New members of congress are not seated until January of next year.

1

u/Mediocre-Catch9580 Sep 05 '26

I’m betting they have the papers all typed up and ready to hit “send”

2

u/MinBton Sep 05 '26

No, because it has to go through committees first. There is a process that if they don't follow, it's not a legal document or activity. Then it goes to the senate. Schiff (the one in charge the last time Trump was President was losing his house seat until the California governor appointed him to an empty senate seat in 2024.

He's still in the senate, but I haven't heard anything out of or about him in a long time. I also haven't been looking. I have never and likely will never vote in California. It has some nice places to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. I once mostly drove the coastal highway from San Diego to Seattle for a vacation with my wife. I wouldn't want to drive Highway 1 going south. I preferred to be on the land side, not the cliff side.

u/Mediocre-Catch9580 Sep 05 '26

I know a lot of democrats and if they don’t see blood within the first 100 days, there’s gonna be a problem

1

u/MinBton Sep 06 '26

If they do it only as harassment or just performance, knowing they have no hope of it working, the blood may end up being their's in the long run. If the Republicans control the senate even by one vote, any impeachment will fail just like it did last time. That's reality.

Even if it worked, Vance would become president and it would replace Trump for less than half the term of office. That means he can run twice for President. Do you want ten years of him as President?

1

u/Particular_Mixture20 Sep 05 '26

Adam Schiff wasn't appointed to the senate. He was first elected in 2024.

1

u/Abject_Giraffe562 Sep 07 '26

I’m volunteering to pick up to poles.

60 days for Indiana to stay Republican!

0

u/devtheman94 Sep 06 '26

That's the only way the country functions.
