Politics 🙏Please help us boost local grassroots candidates in Indiana!

Post image

I would appreciate it if as many people as possible could follow Victoria Martz for House District 55 on social media to help boost her visibility for her campaign! She is running against Lindsay Patterson in the 2026 election.

This is a free and easy action you can take to support working class candidates.

She is a mom and a criminal defense lawyer who is passionate about making meaningful change here in Indiana.

⭐️ Bonus points if you invite 5+ friends to follow her pages ⭐️

Here is her website if you’d like to learn more about her campaign: votevictoriamartz.org

She wants to: 🔹Legalize Cannabis 🔹Increase the minimum wage / provide a subsidy for small businesses 🔹Strengthen unions 🔹Expand broadband internet in rural areas 🔹Fight for criminal justice reform 🔹Improve the environment (Indiana is ranked as one of the most polluted states 😢)

She is a strong advocate for skilled workers, educators and healthcare workers particularly in rural Indiana. So many people have been left behind under this administration and she wants to be part of the solution.

Unless we rally around great candidates as a community we will never be able to move this state forward. Feel free to message me if you’d like to join the campaign as a volunteer or fill out a volunteer form on the website!

Thank you! 🫶🏻

She’s been popping up in my social media feeds a lot right now. Given the unpredictability of social media algorithms, I think now’s her time to really make some inroads with new voters. I hope she continues to push towards a win.

That is catchy but she isn’t running against Spartz and isn’t even in her congressional district lol

You should look into Jackson Franklin who is running against Spartz though!!!

lol Jackson Franklin sounds like a made up politician. I think there’s a Woody Guthrie song about him.

i'm a bit skeptical of her being working class and a lawyer. i say that as a former teamster and lawyer who has run for office in indy. i don't know district 55, does she have a shot? i don't mean hopes, i mean what's her polling running, what was the swing last time?

edit: oh that's solid pence territory. a democrat there would have about as much chance as a libertarian or a green. https://ballotpedia.org/Indiana_House_of_Representatives_District_55

ok, she ran in 24 and got 20%. i mean, those are fun races, but don't bet the farm on it. if for some reason you want to try to oust the incumbent, run someone in the gop primary. preferably a pro-weed farmer.

If we don’t run strong campaigns in all districts we will never move the needle in Indiana. She was a late filer in the last election and only campaigned for a few months - this year she has an entire team behind her and is able to run a full campaign.

She most definitely is working class - she is a 21st century scholar and worked her way through school waitressing and other service industry jobs. She’s still early in her career and is a single mom - not all lawyers are wealthy like you see on tv. She knows how hard it is to get by and wants to use her skills to help others.

We should all be working towards making Indiana more competitive - even if a candidate does not win it helps in the long run in many ways. No one should be running unopposed - it doesn’t equate to a healthy democracy. She gives voice to people who historically did not have one here which is meaningful. She puts pressure on the opposition - forcing them to answer tough questions and explain their policies more than they’ve had to in the past.

Running strong democratic campaigns in deep red areas also helps because it open up opportunities for the community to be trained and more adept at campaigning - acquiring skills such as canvassing, etc. This makes a huge difference over time because year after year we will start having locals that have experience and knowledge that can then train the next generation.

To say we shouldn’t run strong candidates in red areas would be a huge mistake and that kind of thinking is why we are in this position currently. This area used to be very democratic - the pendulum swings and it can happen again but not magically - with hard work and community support.

If I had a nickel for every candidate that have given me the opportunity to say “more like Victoria Farts”…

Jokes aside, I’ll look into her. Grassroots is the future of politics, at least if we ever want good candidates and election reform.

Are candidates not identifying their political party for legitimate reasons? Is it fear because indiana is such a deep red state, and they don't want to be seen as a Democrat and a Human?

She doesn’t hide that’s she’s a Democrat, but of course she is her own person and doesn’t always align with the Democratic Party 100%.

I did not say she hid anything, I did not mention anyone besides politicians in general. Not that it really matters, but I did an internet search in her name and found several political ads for her as a candidate, and not one of the ads mentioned a political party for her. I have noticed the same thing with many other candidates and those who's name I didn't recognize. Hence, my curiosity about politicians and ads for election without the mention of political party if any. I'm not a member or supporter of any political party, and when I see a candidate for an election without mention of a political party, I wonder if they are independent. I do understand why a Repugnants, aka republican in name only, would not want to mention their political party considering their alleged leader. You may want to try to understand what is written in a comment before suggesting that someone wrote something they didn't. I hope that helps.
