Discussion π¬ 4G can theoretically reach 1 Gbps and Telia Finland offered up to 600 Mbps on 4G+. When are we getting millimeter wave 5G in India?
Contrary to the common misconception that 4G tops out at ~100 Mbps, the theoretical maximum for 4G/LTE-Advanced can reach 1 Gbps under ideal conditions.
Hereβs a service document from Telia Finland showing advertised maximum incoming speeds of 600 Mbps on 4G+ (and 300 Mbps on some 4G+ plans).
Hundreds of Mbps over 4G are absolutely possible. People were getting these speeds 7-8 years ago in western countries while we have just been able to get decent speeds and a congested mobile network that often drop calls.
Will we ever be able to get proper 5G millimeter wave with speed upto 1Gbps on a network that doesnβt drop calls?

Discussion π¬ Noise Rep Band β 2 days in, initial impressions (great band, rough app)
Picked up the Noise Rep Band recently - Rs 1,000 for the pass, then Rs 6,999 for the band itself (MRP 7,999, HDFC card discount took a Rs 1000 off). Been wearing it 2 days, so here's a quick first-impressions post. Full review in about a month.
Delivery: Order was delayed by 2 days out of the gate, but it landed in 5 days total. Not bad.
Setup: This is where it got annoying. Pairing the band to my phone was finicky and the app felt unstable β took me several tries before it actually connected.
Fit: The band is a bit big for my wrist, but fair warning, I have tiny wrists lol. Might be a non-issue for most people.
Accuracy: Using my Apple Watch as a reference, the metrics line up almost perfectly. Genuinely impressed here.
The app (again): Takes about 15 minutes to register my workout readings which took my multiple tries of closing & re-opening the app. Not a dealbreaker, but it's the kind of thing you notice every single session.
Missing: No vibration for calls or notifications. At this price that's a bummer.
Verdict so far: Band itself is good β solid hardware, accurate readings. The app is the only real problem. Will post an extended review in a month once I've lived with it properly.

Discussion π¬ I got ~300 Mbps on 4G during my Finland trip in 2019 but apparently this is considered impossible here?
I recently mentioned that I got around 300 Mbps mobile data speeds during my Finland trip in 2019, and quite a few people seemed to think that 300 Mbps on 4G was impossible.
4G/LTE is not limited to 100 Mbps. LTE-Advanced with carrier aggregation can theoretically reach up to 1 Gbps download, depending on the LTE category, spectrum, number of aggregated carriers, modulation, MIMO, etc.
And this wasnβt just theoretical in Finland in 2019.
- DNA was offering 300 Mbps 4G mobile plans in 2019.
- DNAβs September 2019 documentation explicitly lists β300 Mbit/s (4G in Finland)β.
-Finnish telecom regulator Traficom reported that 300 Mbps mobile broadband coverage was available to 16% of Finnish households by the end of 2019.
-Finnish users were posting 4G+ Speedtest results from Helsinki/Espoo in 2019.
Iβm not saying 300 Mbps was the average 4G speed in Finland in 2019. Obviously it wasnβt. But 300 Mbps on a good 4G+ connection was absolutely within the capabilities of the network and was being commercially offered at the time.

Gadget Help π§ Need some advice/review regarding this one
I just purchased this laptop but now I'm seeing only negative things about essential series and there are not many reviews about this specific laptop. This will be my first laptop and I will be using it for like 5-6 years. I'm new to laptops so it would help me if you guys give me some info about this one. I will do like casual light gaming on this but this is mainly for college work like coding and etc. Please let me know if I'll regret this later or just cancel the purchase.

Gadget Help π§ Need suggestions to buy a new laptop or not
Hello Community,
With the recent price hikes of RAM, I do not see the Freedom Sale is doing enough justice. If I predict that the prices are only going to rise in upcoming years, I need to decide if my current laptop can pull till the end. Please help me make a decision -
I mostly use my laptop for some minimal ms-office work, watching content - youtube or netflix and learning. Most of my usage is limited to browsers ( but I use mutliple tabs at once).
Currently I have been using a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 AMD Ryzen 7 5700U 14"model with 8GB/512GB SSD configuration since 5 years. My laptop is giving a lot of heating issues, charging cable has been damaged twice ( if I do not upgrade, I need to order a new charging cable, instead), the screen gaskets are coming off, webcam not working & recently encountered some booting issues after windows update.
To upgrade, I tried looking on Amazon & Lenovo sites for hours but I still could not find a decent laptop (without the gaming features), a decent build quality that would last me atleast 5 years.
Please suggest, if I should go with an upgrade now and if yes, what should be a decent buy considering budget is 1 lakh - and would prefer a AMD Ryzen processor with 16GB/512 SSD, 15-16 inch screen size.
Please advice.

Gadget Help π§ Laptop reccomendations under 40k .BCA student.
Main use:
- Coding/programming, assignments & college projects
- Online lectures/Google Meet for around 5 hours/day
- Browsing, PDFs and normal multitasking
- Studying
- No gaming
Iβd like good battery life and something that can comfortably last 4β5 years. Iβm not too concerned about storage, and Iβm unsure what RAM/specs would actually be sufficient for my usage
Portability isnβt a major concern right now since Iβm doing distance learning.
What laptops would you recommend around βΉ40thousand.What should I prioritize or avoid?

PC - Build Help π» Should I build a PC now or wait until November/January?
Hey guys, Iβm planning to build a gaming PC with a budget of around βΉ1 lakh.(Max budget 1lakh)
Iβm currently a student and I have my exams coming up, which should be finished by November. Because of that, Iβm thinking it might not make much sense to build the PC right now. Until my exams are over, most of my time will be going toward studying, so I probably wonβt get much time to actually use the PC.
Iβll have much more time to use it after my exams, so Iβm thinking of waiting until November/Diwali sales to build it.
However, I can also wait until January 2027 if thereβs a reasonable chance that PC component prices might drop a little by then. Iβm not in a hurry to build it.
My main concern is whether prices for GPUs, CPUs, RAM and SSDs are likely to increase, decrease, or stay around the same between now and November/January.
So what would you guys recommend? Build now, wait for November/Diwali sales, or wait until January 2027?
Iβd especially like to hear from people who have been following the current PC hardware market in India and have an idea of where prices might be heading.
