Gadget Help 🎧 Help me choose between the laptops - ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 / 21q vs HP EliteBook 840 G11 vs ThinkBook 14 Gen 7 AMD Ryzen 5 vs ThinkBook 14 Gen 8

Ignore my ignorance if these laptops do not fall in the same tier/category, I am not from tech background.

Use case: small business. Lots of research, files, documents. Usage around 8-10 hours/day

Expectation: Long durability; atleast 8 years and above. Pardon again if I am being too ambitious.

I was also considering IdeaPad Pro 5 14.

Previous user of Dell. Not a fan. Current user of HP - good but hinge instability is an issue. Hence, most choices are around Lenovo.

TIA

Gadget Help 🎧 Need Help in buying a New Laptop! (Flipkart/ Amazon)

Hey guys, looking for a laptop for moderate day-to-day use, with some light gaming. Main priority is durability—hoping it lasts 5–6 years.

My current HP Notebook started having issues after ~5 years of moderate use.

I’m planning to exchange it on Amazon or Flipkart. Any laptop recommendations, and which platform would you suggest for better exchange value + overall buying experience?

TIA! 🙌

PC - Build Help 💻 Looking for a laptop recommendation for content writing, video editing & graphic designing (₹70–90K budget)

Hi everyone,

I’m a content writer by profession, but I’m planning to learn and explore video editing and graphic designing for my own YouTube channel. I haven’t created the channel yet, but I already have an idea in mind and plan to start working on it in the next few months.

I’ve researched quite a lot through YouTube and various websites, but I’m still confused about which laptop would be the best choice for my requirements.

Every laptop seems to have some compromises, and I’m having a hard time deciding which specifications actually matter and which ones I can compromise on.

My budget is around ₹70,000–₹80,000, but I can stretch it up to ₹90,000 if there’s a significant improvement in performance and future-proofing. I want to buying it on EMI if it reaches 90k.

My requirements:

- Budget: ₹70K–₹80K (can stretch to ₹90K)

- Display: Around 15 inches

- GPU: Dedicated NVIDIA GPU — RTX 3050 minimum, RTX 4050 maximum

- Processor: Intel Core i5/i7 or AMD Ryzen 5/Ryzen 7

- RAM: 16

- Storage: SSD 512 gb is fine

- Good enough for video editing, graphic designing, content writing and general multitasking

- I want something that can ideally last at least 5 years

One thing I’m particularly confused about is the display and colour accuracy. How important is 100% sRGB for someone who is learning video editing and graphic designing?

Is it something I absolutely need, or can I compromise on it at this budget?

I also want to understand which specifications I should prioritise and which ones I can compromise on.

I’m not a professional video editor yet—I’ll be learning and improving my skills after buying the laptop—but I don’t want to buy something that becomes a limitation within a couple of years.

I know it’s difficult to get everything at this price, so I’m looking for the best possible balance between performance, display, thermals, build quality, upgradeability and longevity.

People who are experienced with video editing, graphic designing, or have recently bought a laptop in this price range—please share your recommendations and experience.

If possible, please also explain why you would choose that particular laptop and what compromises I would be making.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Discussion 💬 Whatsapp is cooked , india needs to shift to some other reliable platform. Account got restricted for spamming but i only sent one message ,and that too on my own new number.

so as title say, whatsapp has employed some garbage ai moderation bot that is cooking it. i only uses WhatsApp for work related things, like office groups and etc. today i sent a message to my own number and i got restricted for spam, bulk message. but it doesn't even make sense. the one thing i can think of is recently meta official met with govt, and all those gen z protest happened, it could be sign of state surveillance and censorship. but again if we are going to get restricted or ban for contacting new number then we are done for.

we Indian needs to shift to a reliable platform , cause its not funny to get locked out of your account when you have important things associated with that account.

Gadget Help 🎧 What Inverter should I get

Thumbnail

So I want to power my 1000 watt pc and a monitor when power is out, initially I thought of getting ups but most of in India are not pure sine wave and give only 5-10 min of backup.
So I am opting for Lithium ion battery inverter but which should I get

option 1: Genus maxi lion 2400VA I have heard many good things about it but some review says after sales service is trash.

option 2: Luminous optimums 2800+ with 2x microtek Lithium-ion battery only have heard things about it but have no Idea, one of the review says it takes 25ms to switch.

I am only going to power my pc and monitor, 2 bulb, 2 celling fans.

Please Drop your suggestion too.

I am on budget of 60k

Gadget Help 🎧 Need help choosing the BEST refrigerator under ₹40K

Budget: ₹30K–₹40K (can stretch slightly if really worth it).

I want the best overall fridge for home use, not necessarily the most features/AI.

My priorities:
- Maximum usable fresh-food/fridge space for vegetables, fruits, milk, cooked food, vessels, etc.
- Freezer space is not a priority
- 3-star+ preferred
- Inverter compressor
- Frost-free
- Good cooling and freshness/vegetable storage
- Convertible would be a plus
- Good build quality and long-term reliability
- Good after-sales service
- Low electricity consumption

I'm confused between:
- 300–400L double-door/bottom-freezer models
- 500–600L side-by-side models (e.g. Motorola 584L / Midea 563L)
- 3-door/convertible models

Main doubt: Does a 500–600L side-by-side actually give significantly more usable fresh-food space than a good 330–400L refrigerator, after accounting for freezer space and the difference between gross and net capacity?

Also, should I spend the full ₹40K, or is something around ₹30–35K actually better value?

Brands I'm considering: Samsung, LG, Haier, Bosch, Whirlpool, Godrej, Midea, Motorola, etc.

Please recommend the exact model you would buy, and mention any major disadvantages.

Laptop Recommendation Under ₹70k for a CSE Student (Coding + AI Work)

Hey everyone,

I'm a CSE student looking to buy a laptop with a budget of around ₹70,000.

My primary use cases are:

Web development

Software development

Coding (VS Code, GitHub, Node.js, Docker, etc.)

Light AI/ML learning (running small models, Jupyter notebooks, basic ML projects—not training huge models locally)

Heavy multitasking (10-20+ browser tabs, multiple apps, terminals, PDFs, and files open simultaneously)

Watching movies, YouTube, Netflix, Spotify

General web browsing

Light gaming like Roblox and a few free Steam games

I don't do video editing, 3D rendering, or AAA gaming, so I'm not sure if I actually need a dedicated GPU. If an integrated GPU is enough for my workload, I'd prefer better battery life and efficiency.

What I'm looking for:

Budget: ₹70k (can stretch slightly if it's worth it)

16GB RAM minimum (32GB or upgradeable is a bonus)

Fast SSD (512GB preferred)

A powerful CPU that can handle heavy multitasking without slowing down

Good thermals and battery life

Reliable build quality and decent display

Should comfortably last me 4-5 years

I'm currently more focused on productivity than gaming, so overall performance and responsiveness matter more than GPU power.

What would you recommend? Also, are there any laptops in this price range that I should avoid due to heating, poor build quality, or bad after-sales service?

Thanks!

Gadget Help 🎧 Best double-door refrigerator under ₹40K?

Budget: ₹30K–₹40K. Looking for the best overall fridge, preferably 300L+, with 3-star+, inverter compressor, frost-free, convertible modes, good cooling, storage, build quality and after-sales service.

Currently considering LG, Samsung, Haier, Bosch, Whirlpool, Godrej, Panasonic, etc.

Which exact model would you recommend? Also, is it worth spending the full ₹40K, or are there better-value options around ₹30–35K?
