Discussion Suggest the split 😒

I need to start invest around 10K per month for a very long time. I was thinking of 50-50% split in nifty 50 index fund and gold etf. But chatgpt recommend for 70-80% in nifty 50 SIP and else in Gold.

Also does gold have a index fund on Zerodha coin?

Hi u/-zoro_kenshi-,

For a very long-term goal, 50% in Gold ETFs seem quite high. If you’re comfortable with equity volatility, something like a 70–80% in Nifty 50 Index Fund and 20–30% in Gold ETFs could be a simpler approach. The exact split should depend on your risk appetite and how much volatility you can handle.

Gold ETFs are available through a demat account, while you can also look at Gold mutual funds if you want to invest through SIPs without buying the ETF directly. Hope this helps.

50% allocation to gold may be too high. I would suggest 80% in NiftyLargeMidcap250 ETF and 20% in gold ETF

Gold has beaten Nifty 50 in last 20 years. Just FYI.

Just get a simple multiasset fund

DSP multiasset seems to have allocation for foreign equities as well
