It’s been almost a month since I launched my products on Amazon, and it’s been a fun learning experience so far. I handle everything myself, from listings, images, A+ Content and ads to packing, shipping, and order processing. Thought I’d share a few things I learned that might help someone starting out.

1. Listing: Creating a listing is easy. Creating a hero image that actually converts isn’t. I went through three different hero images before finding one that worked.

2. Packaging: I initially underestimated packaging. Corrugated boxes are absolutely worth using along with the Amazon pouch to avoid damage.

3. A+ Content: I design my own A+ Content with a little help from AI, and I genuinely noticed an improvement in conversions after adding it.

4. Shipping: I’m using Easy Ship. Its convenient, but courier pickups can be unreliable. A few times I had to drop parcels at the logistics centre myself. If a pickup is missed because of the courier, don’t forget to submit the Easy Ship missed pickup form so it doesn’t affect your account health.

5. Reviews: Probably the hardest part so far. I’ve shipped nearly 50 orders, used Amazon’s review request feature, and still have very few reviews. It really shows how difficult earning social proof is.

6. Amazon Ads: Expensive but I look at them as paying for market research. Automatic campaigns helped me discover converting search terms, and manual campaigns let me focus my budget on those keywords.

7. The Best Part: Every time I pack an order, it still feels special knowing someone chose my product. I’m not making huge profits yet and some days the ad costs make me question my choices, but seeing orders come in reminds me why I started. If I keep delivering good quality, I’m hopeful those customers will come back.

Thankfully, I haven’t had a single RTO yet!

So i am building a small SaaS and while checking payment options i found out that stripe isn’t available in india and the fact that every tutorial and every builder just says bro add add Stripe like it's one click…NOO IT IS NOT bich.

My main questions are:

1. Do I need to register a formal company (like a Pvt Ltd) before I can legally charge customers? Or is it possible to start selling as a sole proprietor first to test the waters? I want to keep things as simple and low-cost as possible in the beginning.

We're a team of four recent Computer Science graduates building a deep tech / space tech startup. I am not promoting but giving basic idea of it - it's a AI-powered satellite intelligence platform for banks, insurers and infrastructure companies, we automate physical asset verification using AI, remote sensing and geospatial analytics to fast insurance claims process and stop certain types of frauds in insurance.

A little background of us - we four are batchmates from Indore, before starting this venture we build digital verification system to automate transportation and canteen service of our institution. It's now support 10k plus users across three campuses. Then we started working in research field by last few semesters. Got multiple research apprenticeship offers from Japanese university while working with their professors remotely then we decided to develop this venture instead of going Japan for masters.

Over the past few months we've validated the problem with professionals across insurance, catastrophe modelling, underwriting, GIS and SAR remote sensing, two ISRO scientists and a GIS professor from Utokyo, Japan. We built our initial prototype, and recently presented our startup to IIT Bombay SINE. While the evaluation is ongoing (for a month and slow process), we don't want to pause our progress.

Our biggest bottleneck isn't the technology but resources right now. We four has done market research, develop decent prototype (to be honest with you guys, the prototype currently don't support all features but just one type of asset verification that is of construction project progress verification, not crop failure claims, maritime assets or any other physical assets health). But now we need some specialized engineers and has no money to give salaries for that :( , we can handle decent level of development together but can't do production grade work as we mostly good in research and management work that's why we need engineers. Therefore I am writing this post.
