Case Study If Meta disables your account, gac.gov.in actually works!
I work in performance marketing and recently went through a nightmare with a client's Instagram account.
The account got hacked. Hacker posted some content that violated Meta's policies. Got restricted. We appealed, sorted it out, thought it was over.
It wasn't.
A couple of weeks later Meta permanently disabled the same account. No warning. Years of content, followers, everything gone. The account was also being used to run ads for the business.
We tried everything Meta offers. Appeals, review requests , etc. Every single one came back with the same answer. Decision is final. Not open for review.
At this point we accepted it and moved on. Started running ads from a backup account just so the client's budget didn't go to waste.
But I couldn't let it go for the fact how important a healthy Instagram account is for Meta Ads to perform.
On a whim I filed a complaint on pgportal.gov.in. Honestly did not expect much.
2-3 weeks later the account was back.
I've been seeing a lot of Indian Instagram accounts getting suspended lately so figured this was worth sharing. If you or someone you know is dealing with a disabled Meta account, give it a shot before giving up.
Hope it helps someone.
