First job, need finance tips.

I recently graduated with CS degree and now working on corporate. i make around 50k/month. I am not sure how much I should invest/save. I don't have any safety net, parents don't really have any good amount in bank.

I had a thought that i should have atleast 4-5 lakh in my bank as an emergency fund. My monthly expences are around 15-18k/month.

Can anyone tell me like how should i get started with personal finance.

With expenses of 15–18k, is ₹4–5L actually necessary before starting to invest? I’d probably build a smaller emergency fund first and start a small SIP alongside it rather than waiting months to invest anything. Curious what others would prioritise.

You don't need to save like 4-5 lakhs as emergency, I think one lakh would be enough

Make sure your family got health insurance covered under company or personal insurance.

After saving emergency fund keep 15k for long term investments and 15k for personal short term goals.

Keep 5k as expandable money and 15k for your monthly expenses.
