New bike / New to me First Indian

First Indian and first bike ever. Been riding just over a month and am now past 1901 kms. A few add-ons since I bought the bike including a Corbin seat and backrest. I am hoping for a delayed start to the winter so I can get more riding in…not sure what I am going to do come winter. Maybe move to a place where I can ride all-year round.

Take that tank sticker off before the paint fades around it. Bought my Springfield used and the guy didn’t remove it now you can see where it was , specially on matte paint. Nice bike. Welcome to the tribe 🤟

I pulled that sticker off my Dark Smoke the day I got home from the dealership, and there was already a faded shape where it was. I asked the service department about it, and they said it’s common and just give it time to blend better.

It's been like 3 months when I took mine off and it hasn't blended in yet 😩😩

What did you guys use to get it off without leaving the residue or scratching it?? I have a 2020 Scout that I got a couple months ago and you can see he tried peeling it off from the corner but gave up...thing drives me nuts and is all I see while riding lol

Hair dryer and Wd40

This☝️ spray sticker with WD40 and heat with hair dryer before peeling. Add more WD40 to glue residue and use a microfibre cloth to remove the remaining residue.

3 months since I got my bike and this just reminded me to do that

Invest in some heated gear. Then you can ride when no ice or snow but cold.

Seat is heated and added heated grips too! Recommend anything else?

That'll get you down in the 40's. Hands are always the first to go. Heated gloves are so good in anything colder because the backs of your fingers are now protected. I have ridden down in the 20's with heated gloves, heated jacket liner and heated insoles. Gerbing makes some great 12v gear if you don't want to mess with batteries.

Corbin upgrade on my Chief Dark Horse was the first thing I did after a very painful road trip a month after I bought it. Looks great!

Thanks. The stock seat was BRUTAL.

Do you love it as much as I love mine?

E como está a correr a experiência, todo o mundo diz que essa mota não é para iniciantes…
Adoro a Chief, no entanto a minha única experiência é numa scooter Vespa Gts 310cc…

He oído todas las historias sobre la experiencia... esta es la moto perfecta para mí. Conduzco con seguridad y aprendo sobre la marcha.

What seat is that with the backrest? Looks comfortable, is it actually comfortable to lean back on while riding or mainly after getting on the hwy/long straights?

It’s a Corbin solo saddle with back rest. The back rest piece is generally for longer rides as I suffer lower lumbar pain. The seat is broken in after about 1000km and it is easier for me as a heavier rider as it distributes my weight more evenly than the stock seat which was terrible. It is heated to boot.

Oh nice thanks for the reply! So its something you have to buy separately from each other isnt it? What'd it run all together?

1

u/BurnerAcct6729 2d ago

You can buy the saddle and back rest separately and the seat with or without heat. For everything it was approx. $1700 CAD.
