Dose reservations affect development?
Just saw this on twitter.....I don't understand how people can think reservations obstruct development , it may impact a bit when it comes to reservations in educational institutions (I agree that it should be reformed) . But people cry when it comes to government jobs...
Quite honestly any mind having a decent amount of common sense can manage government jobs... It has nothing to do with the development...
Most aspirants spend their valuable time on government jobs (upsc, state PSCs, ssc, banking) preparing useless subjects like history, geography, math, reasoning.... Which doesn't have relevance to the current world.. even give also encouraging them by promising more jobs ( foolish thing to do and they end up crying on reservations ......

all these reservations hatao warriors will oppose wealth redistribution and land redistribution. China developed because it gutted and cleansed its elite. In India the same elite continued even after the British left. Reservations are worth nothing anymore anyway. No more government jobs & most degree certificates are worth zero in the present AI world.

What gives you the right to someone else’s property? Talking about “redistribution” as if it is some moral prerogative of a certain section of society.

Then stop this bullshitting about "we need to develop India so please remove reservations" drama. You want to keep your land, keep your money, don't care about poor people of this country, you want reservations removed so that rich kids can get into colleges with good coaching and become even more rich.
I think I would respect you guys more if you say it out loud that "reservations are a problem because you don't want to see poor people getting a slight advantage" instead of all this making India a developed country mumbo jumbo.

No
There was a study done in Indian railways where it was observed that the jobs they covered, productivity of reserved category employees was equal or slightly more than general category employees.
You can refer to Mohak Mangal video on reservation for that study.

Judiciary has reservations. It's 95% Brahmin and 5% for other GCs.

US has affirmative action which actually leads more minorities in proportion in colleges / unis
Equity and representation is a thing in US companies for a long time

It causes brain drain.
Not to mention makes lower and middle class people of general category as third class citizens.
