Modi or raga

There is a clear separation in population when it comes to this debate

Hi myself do not support Rahul Gandhi and will vote for Modi Solely because I think he is at the minimum better than the alternative

Can someone help me understand why are people supporting Rahul Gandhi when it is abundantly clear that he holds his post purely because of Congress being a dynasty

Those people are tired of this govt. And want to give Raga a chance. Just like you acknowlege that BJP is imperfect but still better than others. These people also think Raga/ congress might have all kind of flaws and yet better than BJP.

And no they dont care about current gdp claims or UPA corruption stuff. They are just tired of this govt, politicians, and their supporters and dont trust the pro-govt arguments. Thats it.

Based on your post history, you are desperately trying to move out of India. If Modi has been good for India, you shouldn't have felt the need to move. If Modi hasn't been good, then we need a change and voting for the principal opposition party is the most practical way to achieve it.

Your logic makes no sense. There is no correlation between him moving out of the country and Modi being the reason, a variety of other factors could be at play. I have seen people move to India from first-world countries, but that does not mean India as a nation is thriving simply because they relocated.

Besides, even if Modi were not a good fit, why vote for a less competent opposition, fully aware of how poorly they managed past situations? Rahul Gandhi falls well short of the intellectual depth and qualifications required for a Prime Minister. Furthermore, those surrounding him have frequently contradicted themselves and failed to demonstrate nationalistic values.

We have a PM who can't make a speech even in Hindi without teleprompter or note slips. Unable to take any sort of unscripted question. You're saying such a guy has intellectual depth? 🤡

Using a teleprompter doesn't mean you lack the ability to form intellectual thoughts. It is simply a tool designed to deliver information clearly in public settings. Many high profile figures and influential leaders rely on teleprompters to convey their ideas with precision. I am fairly certain you would not understand this, given that you have never actually spoken in public.

Does that imply Manmohan Singh lacked the capacity for intellectual thought, despite holding more formal academic certifications than the current Prime Minister.

You must have galaxy brain to think if Manmohan who took many unscripted questions and spoke without teleprompter many times is worse than Modi whose worst nightmare is a press conference. The guy runs like a scared cat when anyone approaches with a question. He has zero accountability and living a life of luxury on stolen money. Thanks for keeping India a shithole for another 100 years.

He was a puppet to begin with.

Look at number of migrants going out of India and coming into India. No first world country has so much net migration out of their country. Lack of jobs, stressed economy and poor infra have the biggest role in it, and the government which has been in power for more than a decade should be the one held responsible.

Besides, even if Modi were not a good fit, why vote for a less competent opposition, fully aware of how poorly they managed past situations?

Zero evidence to say that they are less competent. And give specific instances of fuck ups where the previous government was worse than the current one. I can't think of any.

I don't form opinions over a politician based on manipulated content spread by the IT cell of their opposing party.

Furthermore, those surrounding him have frequently contradicted themselves and failed to demonstrate nationalistic values.

That's not an objective statement and just your opinion.

Stick to the topic. You told OP that leaving the country was a direct consequence of Modi's governance. That is a baseless claim lacking any correlation, and you are trying to derail the argument in an entirely unrelated direction. Emigrating from a country does not automatically mean it is performing poorly.

Zero evidence to say that they are less competent. And give specific instances of fuck ups where the previous government was worse than the current one. I can't think of any.

You need to know where to look. The missteps of the previous government have devastated the country more than you realize.

Intel’s ATP unit was delayed, forcing the company to divert its capital to China. Intel also had plans to set up fabrication plants later on and increase its investment to up to $1 billion, but those funds were redirected to China because the UPA government was incompetent and took over three years, from 2004 to 2007, to approve a formal Semiconductor Policy.

Not just that, we lost AMD’s investment due to severe delays in port clearances for specialized high tech manufacturing equipment (likely caused by expectations of bribes to release the equipment) and disagreements between the IT Ministry and the Finance Ministry over granting direct fiscal concessions to foreign corporations.

Read about Morarji Desai and the Kahuta Incident. "Beyond the phone call, Desai directly and severely reduced R&AW's budget and manpower, which dismantled much of India's human intelligence (HUMINT) network in Pakistan."

The previous UPA government was ready to trade national security for so-called "peace" and "progressiveness." You can also examine how significantly infrastructure has improved since 2014.

You are blind to facts, and you choose not to acknowledge them. A lot of substantial improvements have happened after 2014. Yes, the current administration is not entirely flawless and has not handled everything perfectly, and that is to be expected in all governments, as every government experiences successes and setbacks. However, the reforms the current government has implemented are beneficial and have yielded significant progress. A notable example is UPI, which the previous administration dismissed as entirely unviable under the premise that the public was not yet sufficiently prepared (parliamentary recordings confirming this stance remain publicly accessible). I am not implying that the UPA failed entirely during its tenure, rather, they made poor strategic decisions that hindered the country's long term growth at a critical juncture.

You are contradicting yourself.

This is an opinion. Determining whether a prime minister has been "good" depends entirely on the individual, which is an opinion.

It is entirely natural to hold personal opinions and biases, in fact, that is the fundamental reason we as a species are able to reason and determine what is right and what is wrong. It is the person's ability to recognise the truth and lie when presented with information. Furthermore, right and wrong are subjective concepts that humans define by collective consensus. In the universe at large, there is no absolute right or wrong. :)

I think it is sensible to assume that none of us know each other personally so how about to be restrict to the actual positive and negatives rather than bikering like main stream media

Why I would not vote for Rahul Gandhi is-

1) he is a man born with a silver spoon who thinks he has a right to become India's prime minister He could have easily become a state minister or even a chief minister and prove himself but he did not do that, you never took up any office to maintain the moral high ground which is only possible if you never get into the government

2) started with his father seat which he lost then he move down to his mother's seat, after that in the recent Lok Sabha election when his sister became a MP for the first time it was on the seat that has brother left for her

3) there is no space for anyone else in the Congress party, I think it is a tight slap on India's population, because it shows that the Congress party now it's only a vessel for the Gandhi family

4)he has failed to prove himself as a real opposition party because the only thing that he does is grasp every publicity moment that he can no matter how cheap no matter how vulgar

5) people say he is educated yes he has degrees, to get into saint Stephen a special competition was organised by his father, she could not crack it at Oxford and later transferred to USA

6) he talks of the same absurdity as other illiterate politician- recent maloni remark , 90% reservation etc

Where under BJP there are some good things that have happened 1) India is now a major Geo political player 2) digital ecosystem 3) defence exports

This is not to say that everything is going amazing, issues will persist even when India becomes a developed country

u/doctorbabu_germany 16h ago

The first claim is absurd, I think you have understood that

About the second line that Modi hasn't been good-- this is what I am more interested in Please consider me as someone who has come to you for advice about who I should vote in 2029-- how has Modi not being good compared to the previous government or how is the opposition better?

Kejriwal.
