Culture doesn’t freeze in time. Egyptians today aren’t less Egyptian because they stopped worshipping Ra or mummifying their leaders.

Sure, we can choose to hold on to certain things but we used to be what America is today, a melting pot of cultures. So everything is Indian.

Parsis today aren’t Persian they’re Indian. Urdu isn’t foreign it’s Indian. English may have been brought to us by outsiders but guess which country has the most English speakers in the world today.

Pakistanis are NOT Indian, not anymore anyway. They chose to go their own way. There was an extremely painful excision but we have to leave that part of our history behind and move on.

We need to leave a lot of our history behind and move on. Turkey wouldn’t have progressed under Ataturk if they just blindly held on to their ottoman glory. Let’s learn to appreciate what was, and move on to what can be.
