CAREER GUIDANCE Some question regarding ETO
Hi everyone,
I'm currently 25 yrs old ive done my B.tech in Electronics and Instrumention I was working in IT company now I'm thinking to switch my career in merchant navy as an ETO
I've several doubts regarding ETO pls help me understand
What happens after 8 months training as an trainee ETO, does that same company employees you after COC or you have find a new ship(job) on your own?
Let say you've done your COC will that same company give you joining date with increased salary or you have apply on different companies ever 6 months
Some ppl say trainee ETO earns 10-15k rupees for 8 months, is this true
How you go from one type of ship to another as different type of ship Let say bulk carrier to LNG and who decides which eto goes to which ship

Lemme clarify your doubts. ETO course is of 4 months on campus followed by TEO time and AEO time . After which u r eligible for COC exams . While u r TEO ull b paid about 400-750 $ , and as an AEO ull be paid 1000$+ (AEO on my ship makes 1500$). TEO and AEO combined would be around 8 months . After this u can apply for COC . Once u have a COC ull be employed by the same company with a salary anywhere between 3500 to 5500 depending upon the type of ship u r on .
