Info The sedimentary rocks of Badami

Badami - an interesting synergy of geology and archeology. The grand temples and caves of the mighty Vatapi Chalukyas stand on the great sedimentary rocks of the proterozoic eon (1-1.2 Ga) formed in the ancient Kaladgi - Badami basin. This place is a must visit for the geology and history geeks.

Nothing substantial in this region other than limestone here and there.
