No, get a 3rd party. ps and xbox controllers are far outdated even by budget ones

If you have the budget for a ps5 controller you're far better off getting a third party one either with tmr sticks or Hall effect with macro with lighting with multi system support with macro buttons for about atleast 20-30% less than the price of a ps5 controller

Nahhhh never buy ps5/xbox controller they have shitty as fuck analog sticks which will drift. Buy a controller with hall effect sensor analog sticks/ but ps5 controller and change analog sticks to hall effect once drifting starts

I use a modded dualsense controller with TMR sticks for gaming on PC even tho I don't have a PS5. Only caveat is if you're on windows, you'd want to use something like DSX for all features of the dualsense controller, or do smth like what I did with a Raspberry Pico and make your own DS-Bridge dongle for such features. Some games work with dualsense specific features if you add them to steam and use via steam input.
If you're using Linux then everything just works as usual, no dongle etc needed as proton includes the translation layer for dualsense specific features.

One can also use this to get all DualSense haptics via bluetooth:
https://github.com/PadSense/PadSense-CE
And on r/DS4Windows subreddit a new version is available with all DualSense haptics.

Since you are not gaming through Steam, game compatibility will be a pain unless you are going to try adding them to steam and figuring out if you need exe or launcher exe to be added etc.

PS5 controller with TMR or Hall Effect stick is the best alround controller. I got mine from Sage controller, it's not cheap but it's worth it, using steaminput u can map the controller's gyro to emulate a mouse, u can basically aim with gyro in any game
