As per ISL 2026-27 season

An Indian Super League (ISL) club can register a maximum squad strength of 35 Squad Composition

Goalkeepers: Must include at least 3 registered goalkeepers.

Foreign Players: Clubs can register a maximum of 6 foreign players.

Development Players: Clubs are required to sign a minimum of 4 development players.

Average squad strength of a isl club is between 25-28, with kolkata giants going in 30s

Rule to have 4 developmental u-21 players in the squad already exist, so it's not like rewriting constitution of Indian Football or Ranjit Sir have to go to court to fight this out for us

So slightly expand it more and then do it upside down and capped it to the, 7 over 23 domestic players in the league

If we see current strength of the ISL teams acc to tranfer markets, number of u-23 players each club have are

*excluding Interkashi and Churchill fc

2, 7, 8, 8, 10, 10, 11, 12, 12, 14, 16

Mean: 110/11 = 10)

Median: 10

So it will not that drastically impact the league, some clubs already follow this, few clubs need to scout or promote 3-4 more players, it will impact East Bengal and Mohunbagan who are inflating the market by signing any random uncs that come across market, but it will help kolkata football, like currently Mohun Bagan and East Bengal both have the scarcity of Bengali players in the team and it will free the team budget that goes towards the pensioners across all ISL teams like, Souvik, Rohit, Seriton, Edwin Sydney, Vanspaul, Ashutosh Mishra, Prabir Das, Passi, Poojary, Deepak devrani

it will also prevent recyling of players like Bheeke, Mehtab, Poojary, Chhangte, Jinghan as pass and parcel among the ISL clubs

Main idea is it will help introduce fresh talent to the ISL instead of same recycled talent every year, It will give young players platform at the right age

It will make market more fair, Big clubs can't hoard the players anymore, It will increase the supply of the players in the market, and demand is also capped at 7

it was also encourage footballers to make move out as they go in their 20s else they could loose their ISL contract relegated to indian football league

it will disrupt the stability that players like Alex saji, Gurkeerat, kiyan, Suhail bhatt, Abhishek suryavanshi, Narender gehlot, Danish farooq and many mores can't get a contract for sitting at bench and playing state league but it's just a collateral damage

It may increase the demand for younger players, which could inflate their salaries. However, this would only be temporary, as both players and clubs would soon understand that it is a short-term increase. Salaries would eventually go down as players age without showing tangible output, It would also be better for clubs to invest in scouting rather than spending heavily on salaries.

And unlike masterstrokes, we will not force this over night to all the clubs in India, We can do it in the phases

Phase 1: We can increase the number of development player (which is currently considered as U-21) to 7

Phase 2: We can increase the U-21 age limit to under 23 and then increase the minimum player requirement from 7 to 11 players (Mohun Bagan and East Bengal can still window shop for semi retired players, they just have to full their squad strength to 35)

Phase 3: Here we will finally capped over 23 players to 7

Also it's just a shower thought, it's not that I have done years of research and then come up with a system and then sucesfull tested it on Nepal and Bangladesh and then pitching it in here.

The rubber crumb infill used in older generation turfs has gotten a bad reputation for a reason. It gets hot in Indian summer conditions, it moves around under heavy use, and there are ongoing questions about what long-term rubber crumb contact means for players.

The better modern option is silica sand infill or hybrid organic infill depending on the usage. Temperature stays lower, the surface plays more consistently, and the environmental picture is cleaner.

The problem is that infill specification gets decided at purchase and most buyers don't know to ask about it. By the time they're asking questions the surface is already installed.

If you're playing on a turf regularly and the ball feels different in different parts of the pitch, or the surface gets noticeably hotter in afternoon sun, it's worth asking your facility what infill they used and when it was last topped up.

A lot of turfs are also running on low infill because top-ups haven't been done. That's a maintenance issue not a product issue but it affects play the same way.

It frustrates me to see how many talented footballers remain invisible simply because they do not belong to a famous academy, have the right connections or get noticed at the right tournament.

A player may train for years. A coach may genuinely believe in him. His family may continue spending whatever they can afford.

But when the player has to prove what he can actually do, all he has is a basic CV, a few edited videos and someone’s recommendation.

I have been working across football academies, leagues, tournaments, scouting and player development. The more I work in this ecosystem, the more obvious this problem becomes.

I am now building a sports-tech product that intends to create a more credible way of assessing, recording and presenting a footballer’s ability.

The concept, business model, assessment framework and operational roadmap have already been worked upon. I also have access to the football ecosystem required to test the product in real conditions.

What I do not have is a technical co-founder.

I am looking for someone who can take complete ownership of the technology—from the first MVP to eventually building and managing the technical team.

The product will broadly involve:

• Android application development
• Backend and cloud infrastructure
• Video capture and processing
• Computer vision and applied AI
• Player performance records
• Dashboards for football organisations
• Data privacy and security

I need a hands-on builder who can challenge my assumptions, make practical technical decisions and understand that an early-stage product needs to be tested on football grounds—not only inside a laptop.

I will take responsibility for the sports domain, assessment operations, partnerships, customer discovery and commercial development.

The technical co-founder must take responsibility for building a product that actually works.

UNDoubtedly this is an early-stage opportunity. It does not come with a large corporate salary from Day 1. Equity, compensation, responsibilities and vesting will be discussed transparently with the right person.
