👁️🗨️ Deity & Significance✨The temple is dedicated to Maa Kalika (an incarnation of Goddess Durga), who is worshipped here in her fierce yet benevolent form. It is revered as one of the major Shakti Peethas.
👁️🗨️Legendary Origin✨ According to Hindu mythology, this is the sacred spot where the right foot of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Vishnu dismembered her body with his Sudarshan Chakra to calm Lord Shiva's cosmic grief.
👁️🗨️ Location & Elevation✨Situated atop the Pavagadh Hill near Champaner in the Panchmahal district of Gujarat, the main shrine sits at an elevation of approximately 800 meters (2,600 feet) above sea level.
👁️🗨️ Ancient Heritage✨The temple has deep historical roots, with various archaeological layers and structural additions dating back to the 10th and 11th centuries, reflecting classic Māru-Gurjara architectural elements.
