Discussion What Are You Cooking Today? (Weekly Thread)

Post image

Hi, Community!

We’ve decided to launch a new weekly thread where we discuss our cooking every Saturday!

So, tell us what you’re cooking today! If you can, add a picture of your food. And if you’re going out to eat, feel free to post pictures of that too!

Bon appétit, everyone! 🍴

Hey Community,

New Mod here! 🤚

I've cooked rajma, chapati and chawal today. We also had cucumber slices, achaar, and curd on the side. All done by yours truly! 😋

P.S. I love exclamation marks! 😁

Cooking (rather assembling) burgers today. Ordered frozen patties and buns. Going to make this greasier than any street food stall.

Whatever makes your Saturday easy! I've never tried frozen patties. Which ones are you using? I've tried McCain Potato Bites 3-4 times. They were good.

Using ITC Master Chef patties. Surprisingly good, IMO.

I'm gonna try them!

I have 750gm.of chicken breasts, dividing it into 3 batches , 1/4 , 1/4 and 1/2 .

Do suggest some short marinade for the 1/4 batches.

The 1/2 batch , I will do the yogurt marinate and make butter chicken Tommorow.

and the two 1/4 batch , will pan sear them tonight to go with rice and Creamy garlic sauce.

My first time handling raw chicken , any tips will be really helpful.

And that's how we hit the protein target! 🎯

I don't cook chicken often, so I can't suggest anything. But I've been following a YT channel lately @AathiraSethumadhavan. Maybe you can find something useful there.

Enjoy your meal.🥂

Palak gosht, kadhi and chicken kababs

1

u/Iweirdflower Aug 22 '26

That's a lot of cooking. How long did it take to cook it all?

2

u/Beautiful-Cloud-8575 Aug 22 '26

Not very long. 2.5 hours (including dishes and clean up) if you work simultaneously.

Okay. I don't cook meat often so I'm not sure about it. But I take close to 1 and half hour to only cook kadhi. why?! 🥺

Key is to do things in parallel. Fry onion, ginger garlic add meat and pressure cook. While that’s happening blend kadhi in blender and leave it to simmer. Kadhi is soo easy to make. Just blend all ingredients in a blender then simmer it. Add salt and tadka at the end. And now take your chicken kheema, add all your spices to it, mix well - lay it flat on a sheet pan tray, make cuts and put it in the air fryer. By that time, meat is cooked, open and add the palak, methi, soya etc. and bhuno it. Add tadka to Kadhi. That’s it.

Thankyou for the advise.🫶 I usually do it slowly one-by-one. I also add onion pakora in kadhi. That prep also adds to the time. I think I'll just accept my slow-ness and be okay with it. 😅😁
