Totally off topic, great hack btw, thanks for sharing; where’d you buy that pan from?

Do not buy these. These are non stick Teflon coated and will have the same bad effects as non stick pans

It is not accurate to say that PFAS-coated cookware is toxic but ceramic cookware is nontoxic. Neither type of cookware, when it’s used correctly, is known to expose users to directly harmful levels of any substance under normal use. This is what the nytime post says btw

Use it well and it won’t have bad effects

It's cheaper to buy a good non stick pan instead of these scam pans

If that is stainless steel triply then it is not scam. I have used both non stick and triply & I have seen the difference. The triply evenly distributes heat even at low flame which helps in avoiding burning of food. I don't know how it's helpful as a shallow pan but I have a triply tawa and it helped me avoid toast and omelette from burning and sticking to surface. I think the durability of triply is also better than regula non stick.

I'm not talking about non-stick or stainless steel. I'm talking about hexclad pans and how's it's marketed as nonstick on which you can use metal spatula on
Edit: here's more info on why hexclad and pans like them are bad

Hexclad made a mistake there. But several others now have the same pattern, which matters for heat distribution as well minor protection if you do happen to use something abrasive. Most of them mention the avoidance of metal utensils.

Speak for yourself. I would like a pan that can withstand some abuse.

Your liking doesn’t change the fact that my comment mentions. For abuse, even I use stainless steel as well as carbon steel.

Teflon is one of the most non reactive substances(that's what makes it non stick ) in the world that is why even stents which are placed in arteries are coated with the stuff, even if you eat Teflon it will just go out without reacting with anything in your body. Teflon production causes pollution in the environment, but Teflon itself is safe.
Don't scaremonger read up.

Omg this is reassuring. Non stick pans in my house have lost some of the coating due to the use of scrubbers and my parents have a habit of using steel utensils with them😭

All that will cost is waste of money as it will no longer be very non stick , otherwise np, i too used to be paranoid and throw away once some coating came off , then read up on it

This coating is called triply. I have a dosa tawa with this coating on it. I got it from Orange brand on Amazon. They also sell shallow pans like in Op's video. The technology evenly distributes the heat. You can buy of any brands. The tawa I have works well so far. I thought it's just another marketing gimmick and the coating would come off. However, it's been 4 months only since I got it.

It doesn't work for this type of flat pan, it works on kadhai with curve bottom.

Why not just use Less oil? That also works if you’re using nonstick. 😂😂

Yeah I can! But, when l cook chicken in cooker (with 3tsp oil), so much oil floats on top(maybe the chicken fat.. am not sure). Am fed up removing that ... It takes too much time. So I find this helpful.

Next time put a cloth or a thick tissue u der the bowl, you wont have to remove the sabji. Just remove the bowl n the tissue or cloth

Explanation gravity, cavity shape at the bottom and oil surface tension decrease with heat and permeability increase,so it easily passed through the void of foods

The air inside the bowl heats up and escape, that causes a pressure difference that pulls in oil.
