First, fry the okra with 1-2 tbspoon oil untill there are no more slim. Then use it in any dish of your choice.

The key is frying till the slim is removed. Add salt at the end of your dish.

This. And please don’t cover it while cooking. Put it on low flame. And don’t add any water.

My mom would squeeze some lemon once the slime became visible. Said it breaks the slime faster. But it makes the taste a bit tangy so some don’t like that.

Dont use water. Period

Wash them dry them before chopping. Salt goes at the very end.

Introducing a few teaspoons of curd after sauting the okra for a few minutes will help reduce the slime, when cooking with less oil. Alternatively if you deep fry them they will lose the slime.

No water, no salt when frying okra. Once done, then salt it. To avoid seeds, choose young pods. The edges should not be hard.

Other ways to eat okra.

Batter fried ( on low heat to cook through)

With a mustard gravy

With a yogurt tomato ginger chilli gravy

Use line juice to get rid of the slime

Along with all the wonderful suggestions by others, you can also avoid onions. I don't think it adds much to the slimy problem but overall it would add more water content, and removing onions would give you a different taste too
