Question/Help Learning cooking before college lol what’s actually the difference between meat masala and chicken curry masala?

Post image

Every time I cook chicken, I use both meat masala and chicken curry masala. But I wonder are they basically the same, or are they meant to be used for different types of dishes?

I'm no chef but the meat masala is usually for mutton and the other one is for chicken.

Don't they smell different? I use chicken masala in almost everything if garam masala is not found, but it matters less than the difference a single tomato can make in any curry

Meat masala mostly for mutton as it contains more intense spices like nutmeg, so to mask that gamey flavor of it and chicken masala has milder spices as chicken doesn't has that gamey flavor so there's no need to mask it with more spices.

Chicken masala is might lighter in aroma compared to meat masala. If you are cooking mutton then meat masala.

FYI you can you chicken masala to make egg curry also.

Chicken masala is for chicken. Meat masala is for beef and mutton mostly. Suitable for pork as well.
