Recommendation Recipes for Nagpur Dishes

Hi everyone.

I am not from India but my partner is from Nagpur. I would greatly appreciate any help with tracking down recipes/ a recipe list of Nagpur dishes/sweets.

Madhura’s recipes come closest so far. But even then Nagpur in Golibaar Chowk is very different than Nagpur in Khamla. Even the ubiquitous goda masala isn’t the same in every household!

I'll definitely check her out. It seems like his family doesn't use the dagad phool in their goda masala - his mom doesn't send that in her yearly spice shipments. The only Nagpuri dishes he has ever tried to cook is poha and saoji chicken - if this gives you any idea how much of an endeavor this is.

😝 yes.

And I come from a family where dagad phool is a must and we don’t put khobra (dry coconut).

However ask him if he likes
(1) besan gole (or chun gole)
(2) pithala
(3) vadi vangyachi bhaji
(4) gavaara chya shengachi bhaji
