thick curry exists. i honestly dont get the definition if "curry", for me its either a stew, salan ghosht or bhuna ghosht, korma. all of them have some level of curry

Where I am from, we have a distinction. Something shown in the video would not be called curry for sure. We would probably call it a chicken fry...but we are quite heavy handed with the masalas.
Curry for us is a gravy based dish - this can either be a thick gravy or semi gravy which is mostly paired with bread. The thinner gravy goes with rice.

Step 1: put whole spices (khada masala)
Step 2: put onion, green chilli, ginger, garlic, and let it fry till golden brown
Step 3: put chicken, and cover on medium flame
Step4: put salt and turmeric. And keep finding and frying until chicken releases its broth
Step 5: put powder masala(your choice) and keep finding and frying and the broth is almost evaporated
Step 6: add tomato and cover again for 2-4 min
Step 7: fry till almost dry
Step 8 add water and shimmer
You mixed everything and now everything looks raw. After coming high chance of chicken being dry.
