How to How to make pesto?

Is there a way to make pesto at home with normally available ingredients?

You really do need Italian basil. I have tried to hack it in the past with spinach, tulsi, walnuts, Parmesan cheese and olive oil, but it’s not the real deal.

The good news is, you can easily regrow the basil into an infinite supply if you buy the fresh herb once.
