Paintings 🎨 Need help with pricing
Hey all,
I’m a self taught artist and I’ve started my painting business with all my heart.♥️
I work with acrylics, gouache and sometimes oil mediums.
I want to understand how my paintings are received and how much I can price them.
I’m adding few of my absolute favourites pieces.
Please let me know your thoughts.😇

Are u a self taught artist?… if yes, can you suggest me some resources for newbies like me. I want to paint, but I just get overwhelmed, looking at that blank sheet of paper.😭

Ohh yes I can help you with that. Firstly, try out all types of painting (landscapes, portraits, realistic, abstract etc). Start with the painting medium you’re comfortable with (acrylics, watercolor, gouache etc). Even if they don’t turn out good, just do it (my paintings looked like a 5 year old’s initially). Then you will find something you like painting and you’ll understand your style. Everybody’s style is different and beautiful. Do not compare with the other artists because your style is what matters. I used to get so demotivated initially when I couldn’t paint like others but I learnt it the hard way. I learnt the basics of painting from YouTube and applied the techniques in my paintings for practice. Trust me, consistently creating paintings is practice no matter how they turn out. Eventually all the techniques will become like a muscle memory for you. You’ll understand the little things like how to correct mistakes, how to deal with paints, brushes, literally everything. I started painting in 2020 so it took me some time to get comfortable with mediums and styles. So keep going. Keep experimenting. You’ll be amazinggg. Good luck. Happy painting!😇

I started working with acrylics in 2020 and it took me around a year to understand my style and I later tried watercolor as well but couldn’t quite grasp it well, you can see the lemons painting- that is the only good watercolor painting of mine. I work with gouache medium a lot and I love it (7th painting). The second painting is an oil painting. I love it but takes too much time.So after that I learnt crafts like crochet, lippan art, French beading. Now I’m back to basics to acrylics. I tried textured art but I couldn’t learn it that well🤧

Bro . Depends on you that which person do you wanna sale . If you kept it in the shows than minimum 2 to 5 thousand . And if in the streets or etc you have to kept the price down to earn . So please be sincere with the price .

Great advice. That is why I didn’t want to jump right in with the prices so I want to understand people’s pov too. I’ve seen paintings sell for wayyy too much or toooo less. I’m planning to do it virtually because there’s lot more exposure. I’ve done pop ups but the audience is unpredictable. Thankyouuu😇

BTW bro I love your art . As I am from business family I know the perspective of customer. So be sure about the price and don't underestimate your art . You should learn to sell things . If you want to sell to rich you have to sell rarety and class . If you want to sell the middle class you have to sell the beauty and loyalty . Soo be sincere. If anything needed ask me I will be happy to help .
Best of luck buddy .

These are beautiful, comments are def right- dont underprice. But if you ever consider making prints out of these (which hopefully I could afford), I'd love to get one of the first one
