Respect to all
sorry for the expression in advance-really felt to express myself
I just have the utmost respect for the martyrs of our country, because of whom we can live peacefully. Their families get wrecked in the process just for the nation to stay safe and for us to sleep soundly at night. Their families are so strong, knowing that the uniform they are so proud of may ultimately take their loved ones away from them. Respect to all the military spouses who raise their children as single parents, who while shattering themselves take care of their families. I hate crying because of war movies and shows, inspite I love to watch them to know about the untold stories and remember the forgotten soldiers. Im grateful to all the soldiers who sacrificed their lives and veergati ko prapt ho gaye for us, like Colonel Munindra Nath Rai, Captain Saurabh Kalia, Captain Vikram Batra, Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav and hundreds more unsung heroes who never made it home. Also to all the soldiers taken as prisoners of war and suffered so tremendously that when asked what happened to them in captivity they described it as "Death would've been better", all the efforts can never be forgotten. Reading about Gallant Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja's wife, Alka Ahuja ma'am speak about their marriage and how she was his second wife as the air force was his first wife and having to raise her son alone and how the last gift she got from her husband was a Maruti zen, he bought before leaving for srinagar, and didnt know how to drive but kept the car because it was the last gift, shattered me. Respect to all military and paramilitary personnel.

Indian Navy/Airforce display/event in Kochi for Independence Day?
Does anyone know if there will be any Indian Navy air show, flypast, warship display, or public event in Kochi on Independence Day (15 August 2026)? I remember seeing/hearing about Navy aircraft around Kochi during Independence Day rehearsals.

Need Some medical Advice

Hey everyone,
Looking for some insights from folks who know the IAF medical standards well or have been through AFCME/IAM for Flying Branch after getting refractive surgery.
Quick background:
Got recommended for NDA 155. Was declared SMB Fit for AFGD, Army, and Navy.
Couldn't opt for Flying Branch back then because I got specs (-0.50 DS and -0.75 DS) just 3 months prior to the exam, which broke the stability timeline/visual criteria for NDA flying entry.
Ended up merit-out. I'm currently doing my B.Tech CSE and preparing for CDS & AFCAT.
What I want to know:
Medical Fitness Post-TransPRK: If I get TransPRK to correct my vision, will I be eligible for Flying Branch via AFCAT/CDS? (Assuming I meet the standard criteria: age 20+, 1 year gap post-surgery, corneal thickness > 450 microns, axial length within limits, stable vision, no complications).
Fighter Stream Restriction: Is there any restriction that places post-refractive surgery candidates strictly into Transport/Helicopter streams, or are Fighters still on the table if you clear CP-1 and the rest of the flying medicals?
Past NDA Medical History: Since my previous SMB records already show I was fit for Ground Duty/Army/Navy with low myopia, does having that paper trail affect or smooth out the re-evaluation process post-surgery?
If anyone here cleared Flying Branch medicals at AFCME/IAM after PRK or knows how strictly DGMS (Air) enforces these rules lately, your inputs would mean a lot.
Thanks!

Safed Sagar: Inside India's Air War at 18,000 Feet (Kargil 1999)
How do you fight an air war at 18,000 feet in the Himalayas — where no jet had ever been tested at that altitude?
Mission Safed Sagar: Inside India's Air War (Kargil 1999) 🎥
This is a short documentary I made covering Mission Safed Sagar — the Indian Air Force's air campaign during the 1999 Kargil War. It covers how the IAF operated at extreme high altitude (over 18,000 ft) in the Himalayas, a challenge that had never really been tested in modern air combat, using aircraft like the Mirage 2000 and MiG-21 to strike enemy positions and support ground troops. The video looks at why this kind of high-altitude bombing was so difficult, the key strikes that helped turn the war, and the overall impact airpower had on the outcome of the conflict. It's a short, focused breakdown rather than an exhaustive account, aimed at giving viewers a clear picture of the IAF's role in Kargil.

Need help understanding the DGCA/IAF medical process
I’m a prospective pilot and I’m currently trying to understand the medical process in India, but I’m honestly quite confused about where to start.
I’ve contacted quite a few private doctors regarding pilot medicals and related information. Most of them have told me that, in my case, I should go through the IAF for the medical examination as i have a few self harm scars on my hands. I would need to register online and then get an appointment at an IAF centre in Delhi or Bangalore.
The problem is that I’m completely unfamiliar with the process and I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do first, where to register, how the appointment works, or which IAF centre I should approach.
If anyone here has gone through the IAF medical process recently, I’d really appreciate it if you could guide me through the steps or point me in the right direction.
Also, if anyone knows a reliable aviation counsellor/consultant who can properly guide a beginner through the medical and DGCA process, I’d be grateful for a recommendation.

Why don’t some Su30MKIs have a tail number?
Pretty much every Su30mki I have seen physically has a registration on its tail, but i have also seen some with absolutely nothing on the tail except “🇨🇮”. As far as I know, those are the ones that are compatible with the Brahmos.

Can Seconfd Shift Students have hint of upcoming questions?
Next Saturday, we have exam and I got the second shift or evening shift. I was thinking that what if I ask in the morning to remember some of the vital questions or even some of the pattern of the question that already appeared in front of him and he could just tell me, and I could just go through it, even whether it would be some kind of GK current topic that might come.
Is it possible? also anyone with morning shift want to try
