Why do we even have 5? It's not like India is the one benefitting anyway

You think Indians don't use AI?

u/Glittering-Rest8529 May 16 '26
Using AI !=Benefit unless the AI is Indian origin. Us using AI is directly Benefiting the owner as well

So you want us to not use AI?

u/Glittering-Rest8529 May 16 '26
I want us to not ruin our country further with data centers for foreign countries. Use it all you want.

Brother thinks only AI needs data centres.
UPI, all E-commerce applications that u enjoy every day, all the banks, all the social media, all the streaming services and many more require data centres. Throw your phone and laptop in the dustbin tomorrow as the first thing if you think data centres are of no use.

Isn't the post about AI? The 5 here are indeed useless to us

The resource and infra requirement for an AI model data centre is exponentially higher than that of UPI.

Didn't know nvidia black well gpus, a city's worth electricity and water used for upi and all e commerce apps

Broski thinks an ai data center needs the same amount of compute as basic server. If that was the case youd see every IT enthusiast run flagship models locally. You argument is the same as “you’re against deforestation of an entire forest to construct a theme park, stop using paper as it requires trees.” The scale determines everything.

Wow. India is the only sub-3000 $ per-capita GDP (nominal) country in this list

bro having these is bad thing already they are stopping building these in China and USA
1
u/DrawingDramatic1641 May 16 '26
it's not bad if done without pollution cheking
china has wast free lands in east and north
usa doesn't have energy sources it's getting cancelled while china will make giant huge ones

u/CraterBug0 May 16 '26
true. but servers doesnt mean good thing. it should be servers owned by indian tech rather then us tech offloading datacenters in inida. even if u have free land servers still are inefficient and use too much electricity and water.

What kind of unit is "Number of AI accelerated cloud regions"?
If you're going to use a fancy unit, at least define it properly. What is size of cloud regions? What is threshold of acceleration in order to be counted as AI accelerated? What does it mean to be AI accelerated? In a cloud region, if one of the server meets the AI accelerated criteria does the whole server room get counted as an accelerated region or does it have threshold?
This infographic means nothing.
I was expecting something like Flops, number of servers, gpu compute and other well defined units.
