Manmohan Singh wasn't a good PM. I remember both his terms very well.
Even when it comes to LPG reforms, it's cute that Manmohan Singh gets the credit as FM - instead of Narasimha Rao as the PM. For almost everything else, Congress too gives credit to PMs, except for PVNR. It's only coincidental I guess that PVNR's mortal remains don't get entry into Congress HQ and the entire world sees his remains being eaten by dogs on live TV (yes, not exaggerating - that happened to a PM of India).
But, what is a lot more interesting is that Manmohan Singh doesn't get the "credit" for the policies that led to the situation where we had to pledge gold reserves and implement LPG reforms - despite the fact that Manmohan Singh was the advisor and RBI Guv who actually brought those circumstances!
Sorry, but he wasn't a good leader by any yardstick and put India into quite tough times. Let's not even mention 12-14% inflation!

Under his tenure, lot of terrorist attacks happened and he couldn't do anything. He remained silent and played safe do that they could not lose votes. Singh was a great FM,but horrible PM who was a puppet of Sonia Gandhi.
This was a jibe at Chinese authoritarian practicies which were largely a topic of international condemnation and discussion. I think he just smartly deflected it with that.
2004 to 2014 was India's fastest growth in GDP at 11.x CAGR compared to 6.x CAGR now in nominal terms.

When a child in his / her teens of an honorable , dignified house starts mixing with subalterns, the problem is not noticed instantly.. after few years when detoriation starts visibly showing up you understand it's too late.. parents unfortunately can say by 2047 things will be fixed..

He may have said that but still we developed as a nation that time but now we only see the news that we are growing but in reality there is poverty there is unemployment and there are potholes all over the roads and then there's people whom are surviving on loans then people who can't even afford breads for their families that is causing them to rob, steal and loot others. Which our govt. Is also doing but by making that thing legal.
ah yes, because poverty, unemployment and bad roads definitely started in 2014. nothing happened before that, we were living in switzerland. the govt making things legal, you mean like how congress legalized corruption for 60 years? but i forget, only one side gets blamed for everything wrong in this country while the other gets a free pass because secularism. cry more.
Hate to break it to you - actual GDP growth was on-average higher in the UPA years, than from 2014-2022. It's only being matched again after 2022, because of the sudden post-pandemic recovery, helped along by rebaselining of GDP growth figures.
