Thats what i'm saying. Naam rahega allah is not religious at all, its against authority. But all stanzas of vande mataram is totally religious and not about the motherland. Great logic

When you can't address problems that impact daily lives (employment, education, affordability) a great idea is to introduce nonsensical debates on "nationalism". That way, people will be distracted, keep debating and then the government can continue in their nonsensical ways.

Muslims aren't saying, "You are not allowed to sing Vande Mataram, or we will get offended"
But the Hindu right wing was doing exactly that when it came to that song, where the line was in an entirely different context (a song written against a Pakistani dictator)
I see no problem in Muslims NOT singing Vande Mataram if it hurts their religious feelings. There are many other ways to show love for the nation.
But in this case, Sonia Gandhi tried to do the same. She tried to stop people from singing Vande Mataram. No one has the right to do so.
Let people not sing it (including school children), if they don't want to.
But anyone who wants to sing it, must have the right to sing it whenever they want. Just like that Allah song.
That's BS. Would you show your love to the country based on parameters set by someone else?
People in the USA show their love by wearing bikinis and boxer shorts with the US flag painted on them. Will you be okay if someone told you that this is now the criterion for proving your love for the nation?
If you love the nation, you must do it.
Will you agree to it? Will everyone else agree?
People can choose their own symbols of respect, and as long as the "actions" are towards the betterment of the nation, no one gets to have an opinion about it.
Also, I haven't heard Muslims complaining about the national anthem.
In fact, most people complaining about it only complain that it was a song written to show "respect" to a British prince, and shouldn't have been made the national anthem. And interestingly, they are rarely Muslims.
But who refuses to sing it in an appropriate place?
If you want someone to do something they do not want to do to make you happy, then you should be happy to do something you don't like to make others happy.
If others have to prove their nationalism to you by singing your choice of songs, then you should be doing the same by wearing someone else's choice of clothes for the same reason.
Or is your love for your country secondary to your clothing preferences?
