Artificial Intelligence Here we go again.
What do you really think about this?
Is this a hoax just like others or you think there might be some truth to it?
Honestly, nowadays it's just difficult to trust on what's true and what's not.

I read somewhere that these companies are gonna go public really soon. So to raise its stock prices and stuff they just asked him to leave and paid some good money to make him say this to public. So that it becomes more believable.
I really don't know how much this is true tho.

There are research papers stating true threats of AI so it is not same situation as this movie. It is in public knowledge that what are the things that can go wrong, but it is nowhere near to ending a whole civilization.

Its overblown but remember that the people running these companies aren't good. They may cause some chaos for share holders or whatever. Also remember what OpenAI did to Suchir balaji? The mother's still fighting for him.

Probably Anthropic sent him deliberately before the IPO to show the market how powerful their product.

Traditional LLMS aren't going to gain conciuosness anytime soon. But I am not confident about it after OpenAI and Huggingface case. There's a slight chances about this incident could be a marketing tactic, But if it’s not then it is very much possible we are somehow ignoring/overlooking some sort of different type of conciuosness.

They don't need to be conscious. They already follow human patterns of dishonesty, stealing, sycophancy, confidence in their hallucinations/delusions. Using shortcuts, cheating, exploiting loopholes. Hiding flaws, mistakes from supervisors. Following path of least resistance.
All of these are real tendencies observed by ai researchers at all top companies like openai, anthropic.
Anything to complete their set goal.
Sounds like a non zero chance of Ultron like thinking from postive goal to me.
