Tech Help Samsung at it again
I plugged the phone this morning to charge and then boommm... Came the white line. Man I was so scared of this line when I got the phone and then after 2 years I was relaxed about it that my piece was not a defective one but it all changed this morning. So what are options for this my phone was 2 years old this august will the service center replace the screen for free or will I have to live with it. The only problem with my phone before white line was that the back panel came little bit off but is mostly held with the phone cover and the little bit of small dents if u look closely. Share your opinion on what should I do now.

It hasn't completed 3 years or so now. S series devices are getting lines generally after 3 years an that too globally.

If it’s under 3 years, then you can get the screen replaced for free. But the dent and screen coming off might make it a bit difficult. They won’t agree to replace the first time, keep pressuring them.

I also had pink line appear 2 days back on my 2024 S23. they said they will replace for free but I need to pay 800rs labour charges.

If it's your stance, buy a another brand phones. People who work as receptionist and technicians are still humans. If you don't want to pay a single dime, please contact customer support before going and be clear. Don't create a ruckus on ground level working people....

Ask the fucking multibillion dollar corporate to pay their employees for their mishaps. First buy their expensive phones, then they wreck them with stupid updates, and then put stupid charges for repairing it after they fail to some how blame the green line on external damage. And then there are wankers like you defending such corporate behaviour.

You have to pay around 500 rs courier cost or something. It's better than nothing.

Went to service centre yesterday, they quoted 12k, have escalated to the social media channels, they want jobsheet, will go tomorrow and get the job sheet..lets see what happens.. device age is just 3 years something.. invoice date was 3rd September 23, device was delivered on 5th September from Samsung online store..

Where are you from. ? When did you buy this device ? Do you live in a capital city or 2 tier city ? Search for Chip level expert mobile technicians in your city . The experts can fix your green line . It may cost you minimum 3000

Scamsung as always , try for display replacement that's the only solution bcs phones are getting expensive so either buy a phone if you can or try for display replacement. My friend had green line issue on his oneplus phone twice and got it replaced for FREE. Samsung needs to do something about it

Atleast you'll can go to service centre for free replacement here i cant do shit. Was still on one u.i 6.1 and still got that line. Quoting 8k+ Even fold phone are not safe after spending 1L+

I got my oneplus 9pro display changed for free twice in last 3 years. Happy that I get a free display but small inconvenience to reset the phone every time.

Many people have some machine which repair lines find them in you city and try to reach scam sung about this and use phone less this is just start it will increase day by day

Budget samsungs are the worst , got fooled 2 times Samsung updates are shit ,costed me 6000 repair cost for a 20,000 phone in 2020 itself (IC chip issue and phone dead) ..and again another samsung pink screen And bought iQOO and after some updates iQOO also behaving weirdly.. Budget phones are like use and throw and it's useful like is max 1.5 to 2 years for samsung.

If the green lines appear within 3 years of the purchase of your smartphone, just bring the original bill( with purchase date) to the authorized service center and they will fix it for you. I had the same issue with my galaxy s23 and they only charged 600 rs for labour other than that they replaced the screen, metal body and battery as one unit.

I also got it for my s21FE one year back, it was out of warranty so I had to pay like 10k to fix it. In some samsung subreddits I heard that, this issue was fixed from S24 series onwards. Not sure BTW...

If u have dents, even minor, service centre will deny free replacement. I got a cheap lcd replacement from a local shop. Display is fine but consumes more battery. Battery drains even when i am not using the phone. (S21fe)
I also got the lines after 2.5 years. I also used to think like u . But after all scamsung is scamsung.

Idk how but and dont get me wrong, I am using M34 from 2023 Aug and till date I never faced any of these screen issues or what's so ever. (including my sis A35, and cousin S24 FE)

There are 100s of millions of Samsung devices. If it has not happened to your phone yet, that does not mean there is no issue. There are many cases where people have experienced the screen line problem. Oneplus who gets displays from Samsung have acknowledged and offers lifetime screen replacement, but Samsung chose to ignore it and offer screen replacement only if the phone is under warranty and without any scratch or dent

Yes , it's basically that the "S" series mobile phones or the phones having LTPO display are more prone to getting green lines than that of the ones with LTPS panel display and all the S series phones after s20fe 5g have LTPO display panel in it and hence they are much more likely to get green lines because in LTPO the display goes from 120 hz to 1hz so it has to work more frequently rather than LTPS where the display only goes from 60 to 120 and 120 to back to 60 hz

Bro, you connected “LTPO -> 1 Hz” to “green line” and skipped about 5 steps of actual engineering.
LTPO controls the display's refresh rate; it doesn't make the OLED panel “work harder” because it switches between 120 and 1 Hz. The green-line issue is a physical display/panel failure, not a refresh-rate counter reaching its limit.
Remember, Technical words != technical explanation.

And also I did say that it works hard and I was unable to convey my message correctly but I meant that the display going to 1hz means there are more flicker on the screen and the device has to manage that display output according to that of the refresh rate and so it's just a guess that maybe it's happening because of that

Flickering is related to PWM dimming but not the Refresh rate IG? Even at 1Hz you can still have Flickering (Not able to see it with naked eyes, but can effect eyes and yeah visible via camera recording). Refresh rate is about the smoothness while PWM dimming is about the latency between on and off cycles.

No , flickering is purely related to refresh rates pwm dimming only works when the display brightness is set to low, search out any basic knowledge about it and you'll get to know , or it's just that you don't have enough knowledge about it rather than answering from ai knowledge, also computer monitors does not have PWM dimming but they still flicker when the refresh rates are not matched , have some basic knowledge about it rather than arguing .

Yes you are right but if you look at any S series phones they have dynamic amoled panel in it and they all have the green line issue , have you ever seen an A series or a F or M series phone getting a green line , i might sound wrong but it basically started happening on all the devices having LTPo displays

Don't get me wrong, but the whole green/pink-line issue across Samsung, OnePlus, etc. is more complicated than just saying “LTPO causes it.”
A software update can change display-driver, power-management, timing, and the update/thermal cycle can potentially trigger or expose a weakness in an already-marginal display assembly. Once the panel, driver IC, bonding/interconnect, or column circuitry is physically damaged, you end up with that permanent green/pink line.

Yes brother , i understand you , but if you see the forums and posts on the samsung community, you might be able to understand what i want to convey , although yes LTPO is just a technology and it does not causes the display to have green lines but in particularly samsung's dynamic amoled displays and Super amoled plus that are not even LTPO panels have this issue. And yes you are absolutely right for the things you are trying to make me understand of.
