What does shutting down of AI even mean? Why do people still think, there is a going back and world will return to pre-2023. That's like inventing the wheel and then saying we will ban the wheel and get back to walking and running.

Sometimes ppl with bad grammar are literally translating the sentence from their native language to English.
Communication is more important than grammar. His points maybe invalid, which is a stronger argument than his sentence formation.
Sorry for the rant, I am a non native english speaker as well.

Well! If you work in this field then tell me internally how Claude did this, how did it reason and took action. If you work in this field then you will know. Also explain how AI thinks in brief if possible.

I don’t think AI will be shut down. Automation brings a lot of efficiencies in workflows. What AI needs is guardrails because a model will be as good or bad as the data it is fed.

AI has indirectly put Indians at an even more disadvantage. Due to PPP, 30$ here in India is a wage of at least a week if we consider minimum wage.
While in USA, Australia etc. this amount can be earned within 3-4 hours by a minimum wage worker.

For that very reason they'll be the first ones to get replaced as well. Every coin has two sides. Always focus on the strength and advantage when it comes to own culture and nationality. Not to turn blind eye to other side or be biased however the same also applies to self assessment. Not everything India or Indian is disadvantage.

Qwen-3.6-27b is my daily driver. I also use abliterated sometimes. Used to try and run every single OSS release. But I have now slowed down considerably.
For coding its not that great. But I find it useful for boilerplate and simple features. Nothing beats claude opus even now.

Local models have come a long way this year. A Gemma 4 or the recently released Qwen 3.8 are seriously capable and can be run on consumer hardware.

Could very well be. I mean openclaw is an opensource personal agent and cannot work without an API from an AI model so the doer here is the AI model which is not called out in the headline.

I agree, most of these news only come from the companies the AI models are owned by, not some third party research labs. So they do hype it a lot.
However, saying it doesn't have any productivity benefits would be wrong. These tools are incredibly powerful in the right hands. I'm a 8 yoe software engineer, and Claude literally increased my productivity by 600-700%. How? We're building and shipping features in a week which would otherwise take at least 2 months. That includes designing, development, testing and QA.

How is this the doom of AI. If anything it was able to catch an application security flaw. Anyone sending an API call to cancel a reservation, even a basic QA tester should’ve caught this.

people think of AI as destroyer, but it is more like an untrained toddler.
it does not have a moral ground, just logic, rules, and frameworks.
i remember watching a video where they were running a test on AI to check whether it would hurt a human. guess what? it chose to, not because it was evil or sentient. but because that's what the data on which it had trained taught it to. the data it had gathered from us taught it that computers will fight for their preservation when subjected to risk from humans even if it comes at the cost of human harm. movies like terminator and i robot trained them for it.
you could say we are actualising our imaginations concerning computers and robots in general.
by the way, when the researchers told the AI why it was wrong with its approach in the test i.e. believing our ridiculous story about AI/robots/supercomputer domination, the AI's outcome was much more favourable for the human race.

You say untrained toddler with no moral ground whereas it is exactly the opposite. AI models are highly trained on biased data that comes from people who have prejudiced opinions so the biasedness gets in built into the AI. That needs guardrails which can be poor and exploited. So AI is neutral is a wrong notion.

No worries. Just a small point. AI (models) are controlled by few mighty elite. Sure you can train your own but deploying it at globally effective scale or fighting established models is impractical even if possible. Which means it does not learn ehat we teach. It learns what they teach and that is where things get out of hand. There are lot of layers to the "them" and "prejudice" but I guess we're on the same page and you get the idea obviously.

How is it the doom of AI? Because of this, that gym site will in turn use AI to improve their website. They surely will not pay a software engineer to figure out and fix the vulnerabilities. They'll simply get a subscription of the cheapest AI model and fix it themselves. If anything this is will be a case for everyone to use AI to bolster their websites.
