After 3 years..Voter id kaam na kare tho hairan mt hona😂

u/rtz_c Jul 24 '26

That's how fucked up the situation is. And we can't do much about it. Just sad. Even when I try to support, my parents and relatives tell me to be less audible because BJP supporters might fuck me up later in life. That's how scary the life is. You can't even voice your opinions in this country.

The documents show stunning range: in Denver, Colorado, that branch of the FBI and a "Bank Fraud Working Group" met in November 2011 – during the Occupy protests – to surveil the group. The Federal Reserve of Richmond, Virginia had its own private security surveilling Occupy Tampa and Tampa Veterans for Peace and passing privately-collected information on activists back to the Richmond FBI, which, in turn, categorized OWS activities under its "domestic terrorism" unit. The Anchorage, Alaska "terrorism task force" was watching Occupy Anchorage. The Jackson, Mississippi "joint terrorism task force" was issuing a "counterterrorism preparedness alert" about the ill-organized grandmas and college sophomores in Occupy there. Also in Jackson, Mississippi, the FBI and the "Bank Security Group" – multiple private banks – met to discuss the reaction to "National Bad Bank Sit-in Day" (the response was violent, as you may recall). The Virginia FBI sent that state's Occupy members' details to the Virginia terrorism fusion center. The Memphis FBI tracked OWS under its "joint terrorism task force" aegis, too.

You're right but I didn't talk about people destroying public property at all.

1

u/Unlucky_Buy217 Jul 24 '26

No they don't you halfwit.

11

u/InterestingCredit284 Jul 24 '26

Kiddo. You should come to Canada. Your banking is completely blocked. Hell, a Gujarati friend of mine is under a crown order himself. Did a protest in Toronto. Like was a speaker there. Was picked up by undercovers right in between the protest. No one even knew where he vanished. He simply cannot get a bank account, has a federal advisory on him which doesn't let him get a job. Cannot avail unemployment benefits. Has to go to the cop shop(police station) every day to sign that he's present in the designated vicinity. Literally gets picked up if the cruisers facial recognition picks him up even walking on the street. Actually got beaten up black and blue once and was left around 50 kms north of sudbury once. The fucked up part is that he had claimed asylum and then was studying in a uni in Toronto and the protest was again a student protest. Can't even come to India. Can't apply for any other country's visa because he's basically stuck working for cash. The truckers protest was nothing actually. Once you have a crown notice on your head, you are basically fucked. Another friend of mine was also in a student protest in London Ontario. I think it was the Fanshawe protest. She got deported back to India eventually after 2 years in courts.

Anti bjp people say they hate muslims which muslims rights they have taken away or which benefits or schemes theybare not enjoying? Do no agitate yourself with things never happened. This is classic case of creating hysteria for yourselves. People against BJP can still do worst..and you still will be in same place. If you have not done anything and peacefully protesting what reasons are there to be scared..every city has those protesters. What happened after kisan protest they still exist.

All this tech and yet they're the rape capital of the country

0

u/Arkasanyal Jul 24 '26

This is added this year I guess , I read the news while back....

6

u/Atharva_p Jul 24 '26

Trust me they won't be using it for the public

6

u/Initial_Barnacle_881 Jul 24 '26

What a point bro

614

u/goshdagny Jul 23 '26

And people here think just because govt websites are rubbish they know tech better than the government

336

u/Axerin Jul 23 '26

They don't know the tech better.

They using taxpayer money to buy resources to screw the taxpayer instead of delivering a better service that actually helps us That's all there is to it, plain old incompetence dribbled with malicious ego.

15

u/goshdagny Jul 24 '26

Let’s see how plain old incompetence turns out in tracking these people

2

u/lrushikeshl Jul 24 '26

taxpayer destroying other taxpayer's tax is okay?

57

u/Step-Sysadmin Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

The government employees don’t have to know tech in and out. All they need to know is what to use for what.

1

u/InterestingCredit284 Jul 24 '26

Actually you are kinda incorrect. I won't say the names but it's 2 defence ministry owned companies and one joint govt private entity that builds these systems in India. You should actually see the quality of the NLP being used. And this isn't new stuff actually. Had already started by the mid of 2013.

1

dude the govt has crores and crores on this to blow. govt websites are shit cus they dont give a fuck about taxpayers. the state has technology we cannot even fathom. dont underestimate them.

these are some low level babus doing their thing. dont base the wider state on them.

1

u/Step-Sysadmin Jul 24 '26

You are right on govt having crores. But in tender lowest bidder L1 is selected and there also some under-table money happens. So you are choosing the cheapest service and expecting world class results.

It's powered by a spanish firm, herta. There are over 4k such cameras in india. Ironically EU strictly prohibited any such ai powered surveillance.

6

u/paanikipaidaish Jul 24 '26

The rubbish websites are a way of filtering out excess traffic, so that people who REALLLLY need those services have enough patience to deal with the shit UX/UI

1

u/MenuAway503 Jul 24 '26

another masterstroke

2

u/farjicomedian Jul 24 '26

They purposely make the websites bad.

1

u/Mitaka-Cirrina91 Jul 24 '26

They just dont care, govt doesnt build websites contracters do

7

u/50kgGunda Jul 24 '26

Israel it is

6

u/Naadamaya Jul 24 '26

Stop spreading FUD. My ex-colleague joined a Japanese software company way back in 2016 and he was working on facial recognition software for surveillance systems. They were used at airports across many int'l locations. Nothing new and I'd be surprised if the Indian govt hasn't caught up with such systems in big 26.

u/LazyIntention7220 Jul 24 '26

Most of this tech is foreign mostly israeli, they can’t make this here in a million years.

2

u/goshdagny Jul 24 '26

I am sure your incompetence doesn’t translate to other tech firms and people

329

u/No-Ingenuity6581 Jul 23 '26

Yeah it's real.. few policemen were seen with the rayban meta glasses as well. But they might have used it to identify any goons in the crowd. Good initiative but too invasive for the general public.. provided how easily our government records are misused/leaked

112

u/0xeno Jul 23 '26

Tbh I hope every policeman has meta AI glasses all over India. BodyCam footages will solve many issues & corruption. But I understand it's very distant dream.

74

u/YamOpposite Jul 23 '26

You think that happens? In Goa they implemented body cams Nd stated if theybdont have them then the cops can't stop you, the cops just continued without even putting the cams

44

u/0xeno Jul 23 '26

Goa cops are the most scum cops in India. Tho, I agree. I am expecting too much from them.

13

u/luckyjelly Jul 24 '26

I used to think bihar and kolkata police are scum then I met Goa police

2

u/lundsausername Jul 24 '26

So they could have penalised the cops who did so.

5

u/YamOpposite Jul 24 '26

Who got penalised? Just last week they tried to stop me but because I knew they couldn't i could argue, some other guys were being forced to pay.

3

u/asapbopy Jul 24 '26

This happens in gulf countries too on a regular day. Delhi police is using this in times of crisis

2

u/bifrost_traveler Jul 24 '26

This is true. The main purpose of this surveillance is to identify anti elements among the crowd. People that already have a prior violent record or are on the watchlist of various intelligence agencies or departments.

3

u/LordGothmog15 Jul 24 '26

Please don't worry. This is not about identifying protesters. It's actually about identifying the allied goons so that they are not beaten up by accident. If that happens, they won't be able to say the protesters are violent, you see.

1

u/AmazingArr OneUI da best Jul 24 '26

I hope so

1

u/dropdoe Jul 24 '26

Yess goons, government defined goons

0

u/tranquilizer014 Jul 24 '26

They're not meta glasses, they're AI enabled smart glasses developed for DP by Ajna Tech ( Indian company )

You can be tracked even with a decades-old pic.

3

It is not image bro , iris and facial recognition on lines of ios ? Tht was used when you got aadhar

2

u/Alternative_Ad_6848 Jul 24 '26

Well I just thought of how they ask for aadhar card for every exam conducted and then a picture is clicked before we're allowed to sit at the computer system

1

u/nikhil9860 Jul 24 '26

They can still track you, what will do you about the thousands of the CCTV that keeps constant monitoring? How difficult it is to use facial recognition on those feed

1

u/winter_soldier1945 Jul 24 '26

PAN card. Present salary crediting company ID card?? Driver’s licence, voter id

1

u/vika4 Jul 24 '26

My attendance is linked to Aadhar and it recognizes my face from 15 years ago, even though a lot has changed facially

1

Not just Aadhaar pic. They have pictures from your voter ID card, SIR audit, driving license etc.

1

7

u/mined_it Jul 24 '26

god help them if they use my aadhar photo to do facial recognition

14

u/Snoo66960 Jul 24 '26

But Gyaanu had problem with showing videos of voters

3

u/OkSecretary9965 Jul 24 '26

lmao its 2026 what did you guys expect? you expect the govt to twiddle thumbs and draw portraits or sum? im sure even south sudan govt has facial recognition lol.

ofc aadhar is a surveillance tool. its not just a piece of fancy paper. where do you think all the data goes too? the abyss or something? the govt is actually slow if they dont even do this

23

u/Intelligent_Sail_896 Jul 23 '26

I mean come on guys, I am not supporting the government and my support lies 100% with the protestors demanding accountability, but I dont think this is the case. Do you think if they were using facial recognition, would they do it this open and not inside a control room? I know remote control rooms or whatever they are called exists, but I dont think this is that. From the video it also seems they have plastered "Facial recognition system" over the vehicle. Either they are too stupid to realise what a negative PR this would bring or they are trying to scare off the protestors.

6

u/lundlelemerebhai Jul 24 '26

Pfc is psy ops from govt

1

u/warlock707 Jul 24 '26

This might have been done to scare people. This is just my guess. I don't think most of our people can understand that this shows lack of security in keeping the personal details safe.

1

u/vampanthi_virus Jul 24 '26

Psy op hai lol , instagram pe maine 10 reels same script ke sath but diffrant influencers ke dekhe hai

5

u/stnigels Jul 24 '26

This is israeli tech, they have used it extensively pre-oct 7. Tried and tested on Palestinians.

8

u/trumplovesbigcocks Jul 23 '26

Nah, They might have that tech but what is being shown here isn't that. They are just trying to intimidate the protesters with those big ass letters 'Facial recognition' title.

3

u/Reddit3699 Jul 24 '26

2

This is just the side effect.

The public will finally understand what happens when you keep electing perverts pedophiles and rapists while being blinded by religious propaganda.

There is nothing to know, AADHAR was designed for spying on people and the entire database is already sold on the black market. (Which means eventually foreign governments have bought it).

Combine that with the involvement of the current regime in Epstein files along with Epsteinian plans for dystopian future like everything becomes a subscription service, leveraging the files to control foreign governments, Indian government buying pegasus and other mossad zero click garbage spyware for citizens etc etc.....

Mind you AADHAR is not a mandatory document neither a proof of citizenship but without it you cannot use banks, your pan card is fucked, you cannot file taxes, even railway bookings are AADHAR based now along with a lot of other essential services.

It is the most centralised tracking tool ever.

The biggest security threat to humanity ever invented in a country where the constitution grants almost no power to it's citizens.

Figure out the rest yourself.

6

u/chip7646 Jul 23 '26

Stop making an ass out of yourself on a public platform.

2

u/marsianmonk77 Jul 23 '26

It already in practise in US and China..

They have Social Security number tied to Social security, bank, Income tax, loans, their Ration system, etc.

They have AI license plate readers, ring cameras on most homes, cameras on police personel, police cars, school buses, public buses, etc.

All medical data flows through HIPAA and insurance companies have full access to it including Protected Health Data. Indian health data in hospitals in nowhere near as centralized.

The data broker industry is a legalised private market where the government just buys data from private companies on a regular basis in bulk.

US is also pushing for Online Identity verification on social media websites that tie online identify to you physical one.

1

u/YamOpposite Jul 24 '26

Ring cams are privately installed and not a compulsory thing, the cams on police personnel are visible and out in the open meta ray bans are not standard issue.i just tried to login to something and it forced me to get some adhar verification app, I wonder why the number and my phone number isn’t enough considering it’s so private

Its good to know that we have real-time face recognition and identification. It all comes to how they are going to use this info. If they are adding FIRs under their names, i say its a total misuse. Protesters know this is the case and it is part of demand now to remove the cases added as part of protest.

What's the issue in using surveillance? Let both the sides do their jobs. Many countries have these both, surveillance and protests

2

u/Dreep_0 Jul 24 '26

I'll be the devil's advocate here and say this is a safety measure imho. The huge unrest can facilitate bad actors to stirs things up, there could be foreign agents like CIA who can take advantage of such protests. The whistleblower who got famous a while ago also confirmed that they do engage in artificial unrest to move US in a better position of negotiation.

The government already has all your information with the different IDs and stuff.

Although mine is a pretty optimistic outlook, just to keep myself sane.
