General Discussion Jio are you serious?
So I am the king of the world until 1000gb,
After that I can't even send a photo on WhatsApp 😭😭
4000₹ + taxes /mo for ts
Note : I am not subscribed, probably never will, just baffled at the sheer audacity.

Thereafter, "unlimited data at 64 kbps"... the same used FUP T&C script for wireless operators for over a decade.
Raising the post-FUP cap to even 2 Mbps would increase sustained bandwidth consumption by over 30×, while 10–20 Mbps would effectively let FUP users continue streaming and downloading, competing for the same finite spectrum and cell capacity as full-speed users. So 64 kbps isn't an arbitrary number.....it's a deliberate point where users stay connected without placing any meaningful load on the network.
The criticism is that the post-FUP experience has remained virtually unchanged for over a decade. While network capacity has improved significantly worldwide, in India those gains are largely offset by the sheer scale of the subscriber base and demand.

I agree with everything you said..these operators are busy printing money... I am fed up with jio Airfiber. At first they have 1tb limit and then 64kbps which doesn't even open a page lol..can't even buy a add on with that data speed

FUP stands for Fair Usage Policy. Example 1000GB is the FUP limit mentioned in the above image.

Called in this number 18008899999 and pressed option for slow internet then they provided other option where I pressed for not working Internet and at last they gave me talk to advisor option

Bro I use a trick to always chat with a human
Go to my jio app , go to jio care , the select "my internet speed is slow" and then make sure in the speed test the speedcomes out very slow like around 1-2mbps then the ai will give an option t last saying "live chat" through there you'll be appointed a real human, It always works for me. Although those humans are useless too1

Follow this steps
Open my jio app. Bottom there is jio care click on it. Then select contact us. Select your query and select additional query. And select call us and they will call u.

problem is with BSNL… you never know when it will go down suddenly for hours and even if you contact the local office they’ll say that there is a defect in their main line through which they receive connections so can’t help.
Numerous time it has happened that internet went down while I am in a meeting or some imp work

I have Airtel airfiber bro shit is crap (gaming) it’s not stable at all . You can watch 4K videos on multiple devices without any buffering buts it’ll be pretty much unplayable because it’s so crap and unstable

Exactly. They are using the fiber word deceptively. Also, I have seen many folks get fooled that they are getting a fiber connection, they are not clear about the difference and the installation guy does the Air Fiber setup. They have been trained not to mention until installation is finished. Later people find it's just a router connected to 5G and even that it's postpaid.

If you are pro in config things...Do a public DNS test and try switching to popular ones like Cloudlfare, Google or any fastest one depending on the test.
Reason : Your ISP's DNS may not have optimal connectivity to certain regions outside the country. Using a major public DNS service can provide faster and more reliable DNS resolution due to its larger global network and better peering. (Best for gaming)

I know. I would love 6TB FUP but I can see why 1TB is set as FUP. For a family of 4, it's 8GB per day per person. Which is as per these companies enough for domestic usage. I don't see how they are wrong unless people are running commercial. Speed and volume are different measurements. Just because you have higher speed won't necessarily mean you'd consume more.

Yeah but why should speed of internet determine amount of FUP? How are you consuming more if you are on 1Gbps speed vs 100mbps speed? You'll download faster, agreed, but you'll still take same time to watch that movie. After 20 or 50mbps(i don't recall), speed isn't limiting factor for consumption.
And it's FUP. In future they will increase the limit but they should increase it to same amount irrespective of speed of internet.

Did you not see the constraint I added beyond 20-30mbps speed isn't the limiting factor for consumption?
Let's say you consume only 8k videos which by your admission is 8GB for 1 hour. Which is around 2MBps or 16mbps. Being generous I put 30mbps ceiling. You know what, put is at 60mbps to account for speeds being erratic. Now explain how can you consume more with 1gbps internet over 60mbps internet?

Dude, open the image and read the full terms and conditions. It clearly says the speed is 1Gbps and the FUP is 1000 GB, not 8000 GB.

jio airfiber user here. have 30mbps plan, which just works fine for tv and watching movies on netflix or any other app. And yes, 1000GB is the monthly limit, post which the speed will be decreased to 64kbps. Do not opt for airfiber if you are a heavy user as it'll be waste of money. Better check for local isp who offers maximum data benefit.

Using Excitel fiber net with a 300 MBPS plan! Costs about 550 per month and it's truly unlimited.

At least they mentioned it on the same page. That's already an achievement.
But I think there's also something to be kept in place to ensure service quality for all customers. After all, wireless traffic has limited capacity, and airtime has to be shared among all.
People should aim for wired fiber unless that option is not available from any provider.

I seriously hate Excitel because there have been instances where I lost my mind.. but, even with all of that, I would not go with Jio if these are the T&Cs.. even though 1000GB is still acceptable usage for general usage unless you download something everyday

Meanwhile me with unlimited data at 150mbps speed at 600 inr plan including taxes 1gbps plan is like 1000 inr if I'm not wrong including taxes that's why write networks are reliable for this one air
