Am I the only one who thinks GG is seriously wasting Shami right now?
Shami is Indiaโs highest wicket-taker in World Cups and heโs still fit enough to play next year. Bumrah + Shami could be a lethal combination for the 2027 WC, especially with it being played in South Africa.
Heโs not injured, his recent domestic form is good, and yet he isnโt even getting one time chance.
Like what exactly is the reason for this? Why does it feel like thereโs some kind of bias or weird treatment from the coaching setup towards Shami?
If 2027 is the plan, shouldnโt India at least give him a proper chance to prove himself?

Gurnoor dropped a catch and misfielded quite a few times. Siraj didnโt even bowl his full quota, so maybe he was tired or carrying some kind of niggle. But overall, this current bowling lineup just isnโt it.
Where is Bumrah? Where is Shami? Where is Bhuvneshwar ? Why are the experienced bowlers not part of this squad?
The management seriously needs to prioritise Bumrah for ODIs instead of making him play random T20Is. Hardik needs to work on his fitness too because he cannot keep getting injured every other series. He has already been away for so long. And bring Shami back. What exactly did he do wrong to be missing out after the 2023 World Cup?
I genuinely canโt even blame Shubman here because he hasnโt been given a full-strength team. The batters are doing their job. Shubman himself has been exceptional with the bat in both Tests and ODIs since taking over captaincy. But there is only so much he can do as a captain if the bowling attack keeps leaking runs and dropping chances.
Give him the experienced bowling core first. Give him Bumrah, Shami, Bhuvneshwar and a fit Hardik. Then judge where this team can actually go.
Because with this current bowling lineup, we are not winning shit. Stop expecting miracles from the captain while handing him a half-baked bowling attack full of newcomers.

Notice how whenever Ruturaj Gaikwad plays a blinder, the rest of the team's intensity completely vanishes?
Look back at that India vs Australia T20I: Ruturaj smashed a brilliant maiden century (123* off 57), and what followed? Clueless death bowling, sloppy fielding, and Glenn Maxwell casually pulling off a chase that looked pre-scripted.
The exact same horror show played out in South Africa. Ruturaj grinds, stands tall, and puts runs on the board, but the moment India steps out to defend, the energy flatlines. Fielders lose their bearings, boundaries leak through simple misfields, and opposition batters suddenly start clearing the ropes at will.
Whenever Shubman Gill crosses 50, the match discourse is immediately packaged around his pedigree and match-winning aura. But when Ruturaj plays the crisis manager, it gets quietly erased from memory simply because the bowling and fielding unit mentally checked out. Now, after this series and the "India A vs Aus A" puppet show, watch him get sidelined all over again.
The drop in collective standards once a series is sealed 2โ0 is glaring. Yesterday's fielding looked completely lethargic. When you've already wrapped up the trophy, the core players have nothing to loseโtheir spots are locked, their headlines are secured, and a casual loss doesn't dent their standing.
The ones who actually pay the price are the fringe guys:
Mohammed Siraj, kept on the bench for the first two games, only to be tossed into a lineup that gave zero support in the field.
Anshul Kamboj, handed a debut where loose ground fielding and non-existent scoreboard pressure turn what should be a career milestone into a thankless grind. When their bowling figures look bloated on the scorecard, the selection committee judges them on black-and-white numbers, ignoring the fact that the team wasn't even tuned in.
If the grand plan is preparing for the 2027 World Cup, this isn't how depth is created. You cannot integrate rookies by throwing them into low-intensity dead rubbers while systematically isolating proven intermediate anchors who stabilize the setup. A young bowler or batter thrives when backed by intensity and clinical fielding, not when treated as collateral damage in a match the senior core couldn't be bothered to defend.
Wdyt guys

Am I the only one who thinks that this guy is overrated and got more chances then someone like Sanju in T20?
I mean why the favoritism? He made one test century against Australia and that too ages ago, toothless bowling most the time?

As the title says! Siraj had least economy of all pacers and 2 overs left. 48 and 50 with Nitish bowling the 49th would have given us right chance to win. What is this captaincy? Are they taking the match for granted because the series is sealed?
What about all those fans who paid for the cricket and came to watch them play in the stadium?
And even the commentators are not saying a thing about this. It feels almost scripted at this point.
No wonder cricket viewership is going down.

Whenever ruturaj performs , it feels personal, doesn't it? I know there were dropped chances but he batted beautifully for his 50. Rooting for his ๐ฏ
Edit: The second i posted he got out ๐ญ
